The best Bond was Sean Connery (I have this thing for originals). All Bonds after Connery were rubbish until Daniel Craig. Craig was amazing.

I thought Dalton was good despite he only did two movies. I thought he really started to bring the fear back into James Bond before Craig.

Input it to you, sir, that the best Bond was indeed the original - the one in the books! Only the books let us follow Bond's thought processes as he made the decisions he had to make throughout each adventure. That, and the fact that he was the original, is the basis for my assertion : )
