I met him when I was 14 or 15 years old. Read in the newspaper that he was going to be at a local department store to represent Head. I walk up and he is just standing there by the display table. I was in awe of him. He was very kind to spend time with some young kid. He was a great tennis player, but more importantly a incredible person!

I’ve seen photos of Arthur but never heard him talk. He speaks beautifully. I wish he had more success after his 1975 Wimbledon win.

Why wouldn't he be well spoken?

@@ChorizoCentauri He's better at speaking than most people. It's a good trait.

Thankfully most of us have moved on from defining a person by their appearance . It would have been nice to see Arthur throw it back to her asking how hard it was for Sue Lawley to succeed as a woman , that might have disturbed the BBC " varnish " a bit !

What devastatingly insightful questions. Her next question was: "Coronation Street or Eastenders"?

Why Sue Lawley ever got on to TV is absolutely an enigma :(
