There were some epic storylines in Red Dwarf! Real grade A, top quality writing. He kept screwing up and giving away the punchlines to the jokes here that was the problem because he'd been given all this revelatory dialogue and didn't realise if you do it infront of an audience the idea is to hold back the lines if you know youre going to fuck it up so you dont ruin the spontaneity like the other actors would know to do so he just plowed through it and gave away all this stuff then had to redo it so the audience reaction wasn't as good cos theyd already heard it ofcourse but yes he was doing that cos he wasn't used to a live audience. The series 5 Red Dwarf documentary shows him cocking it up its on that DVD.
