They use to sound louder and more majestic. But now the ocean is full of man made sound and there calls have gotten shorter and more high piched then before. Listen to there calls 30 to 50 years ago then now with same spices its way different and quiter.

Good video. I was very glad to see it was professional divers who knew the baby was there and shut off the engine so the prop didn't give it a scar like it's mother. I had the honor of listening to whales, dolphins, shrimp and other natural wonders for hundreds of hours on submarines. We discovered whales can communicate over 1000 miles using sound channels and convergence zones in the ocean. I miss them.

@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism
@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism 2 жыл бұрын
I guess the auntie knew better not go over with the other little ones, for fear of risking them all. That's why it waited for the mom to abort hunting and come back up. Either that, or this crew got it wrong, and auntie told the other little ones to stay and it was auntie who came over and got the little one but I suspect the former is likely true. No doubt the auntie would be wise and keep away and no doubt the mom would abort hunting and surface fast at the sound of her baby screaming out of fear.

These fellow animals have a way of making our smiles shine even brighter. I kindly ask for all the boaters with engines to please slow down when driving. Many marine animals come to the surface to breathe and communicate to one another in which the vessels/ propellers are gutting up their bodies and creating harsh noise pollution. For the rest of us, if buying, let's buy locally (and certified organic) as possible.

It wouldn’t be anything extraordinary. Think of the animals that existed prior to humans driving them extinct, that’d pretty much be it, there wouldn’t be any crazy new species. We’ve only been significantly affecting our environment for around 200 years, and that isn’t enough time for animals to seriously change.
