Ukraine is struggling to hold back a major Russian incursion near its second biggest city of Kharkiv.
Thousands of people are fleeing their homes in the northeastern region, as missiles routinely target the area.
The cross-border offensive is one of the most significant Russian ground attacks since the start of the war.
During a surprise visit to Kyiv on Tuesday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told President Volodymyr Zelensky that military aid is "now on its way".

Of the 61 billion, 49 billion will remain in the USA and 12 billion will be used by Ukraine for excavation work? If it's like in Kharkiv, those dollars will barely be enough for two excavators. But it is not yet known whether for military trenches or trenches for the dead.

Russia can produce all their weapons, munitions, and equipment by themselves. Meanwhile Ukraine is fully dependent on weapons from NATO. Even if it's true that Russian weapons are inferior compared to NATO weapons, being able to produce is still huge advantage. Not so sophisticated tanks is still much better than no tanks at all.

Russia will have gained its stated military objectives within a matter of weeks. The only question then will be what it plans to do next. Will Putin sue for peace or listen to his hawks and go for Odessa? Britain's role this sorry affair has been utterly shameful. NATO and Ukraine constantly lied to Putin during all those "peace talks" Russia tried to have before, including Minsk agreements. So, I think Odessa will go back to Russia together with all other cities that was Russian a 100 years ago, Ukraine will be left with the territories it had when Ukraine joined USSR. Poland wants some territories back as well, Sikorsky said that last year.

Why do they keep talking about immediate $61bn aid from the US when $23bn is going for US stocks replenishment and $8bn is for pre-order of weapons and ammunition. It's only $30bn, minus logistics fees.
