One possible reason if they actually were going to do it: if they knew (or speculated) that China will invade Taiwan soon, it might be a good idea for them to time their attack for the same time when US and the rest are already busy dealing with China. Maybe all 3 have some understanding: Russia goes first and they watch what happens, then China and NK follow.

The USA hasn't grasped a crucial aspect of warfare: when fighting an enemy that lives, reproduces, and fights with virtually no cost, akin to mountain goats, how do you maintain your global logistical network and military operations without going bankrupt? America might be able to overpower China or Russia with its billion-dollar planes and orbital defense systems, but winning against a country that sustains its resistance so cheaply is nearly impossible. It's not about underestimating the enemy's power; it's about overestimating our commitment to maintaining what we've built. That's why, after a decade or two, we often end up on the losing side.

Some people are in big delusion about facts. Although the USA has fought many wars, its dominance of the world after the Second World War ensured relative peace. Although it may be difficult for many people to accept due to their political views, this is a fact. We have experienced a world dominated by authoritarian or fascist regimes. The name of this experience is the First and Second World Wars. These wars were our experience of a multipolar world. The USA is a peacemaking power. Even though it has fought many unjust wars, it is the source of peace. Let's do a simple thought experiment. Let's remove the USA from the world equation for a moment. I leave it to you to imagine how many countries will go to war with each other or invade their neighbors. A world dominated by the USA is always better than a world dominated by countries such as China, Russia, or Iran.

Why is nobody concerned with a combined action by China and NK? Meaning that North Korea could start a limited strike on South Korea to keep the US busy, while shortly thereafter, China goes after Taiwan. From a Chinese perspective, this might be the most promising strategy, as a war between North Korea and the US/South Korea would not directly mean war with China and none of the western allies would be willing to fully invade North Korea. They would simply be busy trying to re-establish the old border.

"What if China starts WWIII" - I fail to see how this would work well especially when the US' supply/training centers around being able to fight two large scale wars at the same time. The biggest issue is how would China stop a US-China war from going nuclear and ending it a mass exchange of nuclear bombs.
@ajaykumarsingh7028 ай бұрын
@@David-kd4qr You fail to see that because you are unaware of the fact that China is the world supply chain now. Their industrial prowess dwarfs combined Western world + Russia several hundred times and their population outnumbers the West 1:3 ratio. USA knows that a direct full scale war against China will always end up in defeat of the West, that's why it is longing for regional allies to take the blunt of the war in place of Western world directly. It is also true that once taking heavy losses the USA will go nuclear to save itself. In such a scenario, China will either try to shoot down as much nukes it can and retaliate heavily with its hypersonic nuclear arsenal to end the USA quickly and hope to survive a portion of their civilization or choose to halt the war immediately and calls for a ceasefire at the current war position, defining the new borders. China will most likely choose the latter rather than a nuclear exchange.

What kind of map (13:00) gives Crimea to Russia (which no one recognizes), and cuts the eastern most part of Siberia from Russia (which everyone recognizes as part of Russia)?
@mikepeterson93628 ай бұрын
Um.....hey there DW, the NLL was drawn "later" as in 1953. The 'Kim dynasty" has ALWAYS claimed that South Korea is their principal enemy -- thus the 10,000 artillery pieces pointed at it since before you were born. Why did you select Bob Carlin and Jenny Town as spokespersons to reinforce this message? Of the 6000 North Korea experts you could have called, why did you pick those two? Care to tell your viewers what the Stimson Center is? And more importantly, when your editor asked you "what's new in this story" all you had to say was "nothing, we're just going to bash North Korea and get some clicks." Right? That's how it went, right? So the Tumangong rail station, built between 2008 and finished in 2012 has more rail cars on it now? Who could POSSIBLY have seen that coming? Thank GOD we have the Center for International Studies to tell us these things. Care to tell us who those tw*ts are? There is LITERALLY zero news in this segment, but your Florence Pugh chainsmoking voice will continue to serve you well kid.

DW, you are absolutely lame for including Crimea into ruzzia on your map in this video. Such a weak, counter-productive, and just plain incorrect thing to do.

WTF are you saying? Unintelligible. "Prepared for war from long ago" so like what, 1847 or something? What does "all root of trade" even mean? Like root of a tree? Route as in ways or mechanisms to trade? Use Google translate.

@@chrisstrawn4108trade routes. The world's police has sanctioned North Korea hard. Boxed them in. If you cage and punish someone long or hard enough no matter the reason, at some point they fight. This is the human nature. Hamas is an example. So are the results of the versailles treaty. And many more. There are many things about human nature and demographic changes we don't understand, and we are very bad at learning from history.

Germany is unfortunately a colony of the US, still occupied since 1945. You should look up what German journalist Udo Ulfkotte (Google his name) said about journalists for hire working for the CIA, as he was one himself until he could no longer live with his conscience for doing it. He died in mysterious circumstances not long after giving that interview.

Kim, managed to secure a strategic alliance with Russia is a huge deal. NATO may have gained Sweden and Finland, but Russia gained North Korea and Iran , all heavily sanctioned states with massive militaries. The world is in a very dangerous place. The Ukraine war showed how venerable the NATO is.
