Soma Rippert i know, i don’t understand why people don’t get the meaning of this album. and only say it’s a trash or smth. cause i think it just tells us the grownups maturity of her mind, her life. and i love her for always putting a meaning in her songs so the songs aren’t just like a rhythm but tell a related story in each album:) (sorry for bad english)

Some people are saying that she shouldn't rerecord everything - because it won't be the same - but that's the beautiful thing. Yes, her voice changed. It grew up. But it aged like a fine wine, and I can't wait to her some of her old songs with this new level of maturity.

I’ve watched all 6 performances and all 6 are flawless. Her vocal control is really good. She hit all the notes, she approached the melody differently depends on the lyrics, and most importantly she put emotion into it. Yeah she may not be a powerhouse vocalist, but she’s a damn good singer. Her range is getting wider as well, try to sing all 6 songs she just performed, the low notes are low and the highs are actually quite high. And she keeps improving. She’s really really great. And I just love her tone, so soothing and beautiful.

I was reminiscing just the other day While having coffee all alone and Lord, it took me away Back to a first-glance feeling on New York Time Back when you fit in my poems like a perfect rhyme Took off faster than a green light "Go" Hey, you skip the conversation when you already know I left a note on the door with a joke we'd made And that was the first day And darling, it was good never looking down And right there where we stood was holy ground Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress We had this big wide city all to ourselves We blocked the noise with the sound of "I need you" And for the first time I had something to lose And I guess we fell apart in the usual way And the story's got dust on every page But sometimes I wonder how you think about it now And I see your face in every crowd 'Cause darling, it was good never looking down And right there where we stood was holy ground Tonight I'm gonna dance for all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you Tonight I'm gonna dance like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you It was good never looking down And right there where we stood was holy ground Tonight I'm gonna dance for all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you Tonight I'm gonna dance like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you

This reply is literally 9 months later, but Red is the first album that truly got be hooked as well! Speak Now was the first album I bought of hers and I liked songs from her first two, but it wasn’t until Red that I really realized how amazingly talented she is. I think State of Grace in particular did me in, that’s been one of my top favorite songs ever since I heard it

[Verse 1] I was reminiscing just the other day While having coffee all alone, and Lord, it took me away Back to a first-glance feeling on New York time Back when you fit my poems like a perfect rhyme Took off faster than a green light, go Hey, you skip the conversation when you already know I left a note on the door with a joke we'd made And that was the first day [Chorus] And darling, it was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground [Verse 2] Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress We had this big wide city all to ourselves We blocked the noise with the sound of, "I need you" And for the first time, I had something to lose And I guess we fell apart in the usual way And the story's got dust on every page But sometimes, I wonder how you think about it now And I see your face in every crowd [Chorus] 'Cause darling, it was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground [Hook] Tonight, I'm gonna dance For all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you Tonight, I'm gonna dance Like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you [Chorus] It was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground [Outro] Tonight, I'm gonna dance For all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you Tonight, I'm gonna dance Like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you

I think that part of what makes her so successful is how long her band has been with her…Mike Meadows and Max Bernstein have been with her for 15 years, Paul Sidoti and Amos Heller have been with her since 2007, and her background singers have been with her since The Red Tour in 2013. Especially with Paul she must take very good care of them! What a fortunate life they all have!

This version is: "I love you. That's why I let you go." Nostalgic sweetness and a twinge of pain but with an after taste of joy. Waking up early morning after a dream, the sun slowly rising. She sings always so candidly, with so much soul, depth, and emotion. You can practically 'experience' each lyric. You can feel the passion. Singing is a part of who she is - it's not just what makes the money, and you can hear that when she performs. That's what makes her a sophisticated vocalist and on a different level than most of her peers.
