Or a home for the rest?
@smokinghorsey95 жыл бұрын
I'm reading the comments and I think that a lot of people are missing the point. I do not think the purpose this would serve is as a portable home. This is not a fancy caravan. It is a house. The point is that typically, building a home requires a long build time involving many different people. With this, you order the home, it arrives and is built within 10 minutes. However, the home will still need to be plumbed in, fully furnished and connected to the electricity grid. That is, once the home is actually unfolded and fully fitted, it would not be easy to then refold it again. It would first require the house being emptied and the pipes and cables connecting it to the ground removed. From the point of view of a construction company, these houses could be built in a factory and stored in a warehouse. Once an order is placed, the house is delivered to the site and is allowed to unfold/self-assemble. Definitely seems to me to be an idea that will have some potential.

The transforming interior are fantastic. It doesn't have problems of elements exposure, so their maintenance are less demanding. Also, it doesn't need to work on plumbing, something that make the outdoor version only suitable for camping or disaster relief.

I'm working on a science fiction concept using this type of building. Being able to ship entire towns to right where they need to be. transporting a few hundred to a thousand such containers to a site and being able to set up infrastructure for thousands of people in a matter of hours. Containers could be houses, schools, restaurants, hospitals/clinics, research labs, greenhouses, you name it. As this company is proving, the design potential is borderline limitless,

No doubt the negative comments below are made by builders who will be disrupted by this new application of old principles. But for people like me who are looking for affordable housing, this kind of thing is just the beginning of a satisfactory solution to the current costly way of doing things. If I were a builder, I would be seeking a licence to make these buildings, and sit back and watch the $$ roll in as people flock to it.

The poor can not afford this kind of house. Only the establishment of these houses is very expensive, then how will the poor or middle class family afford this whole house? I really respect your model, but if you can create a middle-class family's design then you have a huge market ...🙌

The middle-class is definitely the best targeted consumer for this. That is of course unless you were to share it. Frankly I think this would be best for relief areas that need better shelters or medical facilities.

Or closes when it shouldn’t, squishing Granny Ethel into human prune juice? And what if a hurricane comes along and scoops it up? Other than that, pretty ingenius geometry there… 😵💫

If it was affordable and leads to ownership in the short term then i can see people buying it as it's way better than giving ones hard earnings to a landlord never ever to see ownership Having said all that im guessing a series of tesla batteries would have to be installed in a location where by many of these homes can be situated nd have a plug n play system but what about garden space? Good for someone who has a plot of land but as a community how would such a change in home construction be done?
