The nurses and doctors in there are amazing I've just experienced our wee little baby girl being in neo natal in wishaw. I'll tell you now me and my fiance cannot thank them enough they are angels in blue. Our government need to support our health service they don't realise how special they all are cannot pick a fault with any of them. The support they gave us was incredible and I will never forget any of them they will always have a place in both our hearts. Everytime I look at my baby girl they will always be in my thoughts. Thank you every single one of you if I could afford to pay a wage rise for you all I would do it in a heartbeat.

I admire my mom and all parents who go through this. I was born 1 mth premature at 3lbs 6 oz. I was in the NICU for 1 mth. I was my mom's first child and she was living in a different country to her parents. She's told me how guilty she felt when I was born. I'm crying as I see this mom's tears. I'm now an elementary/middle school music teacher. I'm so thankful for my mom, my dad, and the nurses and doctors who took care of me. Thank You God for Your gift of life!

I was born 33 weeks premature with a grade 4 intraventricular hemorrhage and hydrocephalus. This led me to be in the NICU for a month as I needed neurosurgery and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. My two older brothers weren’t even allowed to visit me in the hospital because of the RSV that was going around the doctors were afraid that I could get it from them and get sick. I’m 25 years old now.

My twin baby boys were born at 31w6d only 1 weeks ago. My second twin currently has a grade 4 intraventricular hemorrhage and some other physical abnormalities. His twin is completely fine. I pray my baby will continue to do well and won’t have any set backs from this bleed in his brain.

A friend of mine gave birth to her daughter 3 months earlier. When the baby was born all her organs showed underneath her skin. Her buttocks were in the palm of a human hand and little tiny feet reaching a human wrist. She was fed with a doll bottle. Today Ms. “Know it all” 😄 is 25 years old, on high heels 👠 and a Lawyer!!! Alfie will follow the same path by the grace of God.

God bless those parents. I don't quite know how I would handle that, but I guess ya just have steel yourself and push through the stress and fatigue. I mean one little infection could send a little one so small to being back on a ventilator. I personally have not had any children, but just think about "the miracle of childbirth ". Darn right it is because look at how many things have to go right to have a full term healthy baby. I really look up to women that have preemies and special needs children...they are heroes in my book

Watching these stories, it's troubling to see that so many believe babies are just fetuses at this age & right to abort a healthy baby after 24 weeks is OK. I so wonder what parents of micro-premies think regarding abortion after such gestational age when there's no fetal abnormality. (The uproar in America right now as I been looking re premie babies).
@CadaverQT2 жыл бұрын
I just had my 25 weeker- 1lb 3.8oz. It was extremely traumatic. Eclamptic seizures lead to an emergency csection after them telling me she only had a 20% chance of making it out alive and putting me to sleep. I still support a woman's right to abortion, but I've never heard of it going so far as you're saying. I think 18 weeks was the cutoff when I was considering. It's a very huge deal for a woman to carry a baby. It almost killed me. My daughter's roommate's mom is an addict. She's never there. And I feel so horrible for that tiny baby. I think of all the babies that will suffer now because women who don't want them are keeping them, and foster care is an ugly mess. I hope her mom can get help and get clean for her sake (not to mention the mom's own health).
@pookoos2 жыл бұрын
A neonate like this cannot survive on its own like a full term baby can. It is a fetus at this point. Late term abortions are very very rare and only done to save the mother's life, or because the fetus itself has a serious defect that makes it nonviable. It's usually done to spare the future baby suffering. Contrary to what some seem to want to believe, women don't choose to abort because it's fun and it sure as hell isn't easier than birth control. People do it because they need to, whatever it looks like. But as I'm sure you know, the vast majority are done in the earliest stages.
@shelovinthecrew Жыл бұрын
something like 90% of abortions are done before 8 weeks and if they are done at 24 its usually due to the fact that there is a severe issue with the baby who will likely die almost immediately after birth

My son was 8wks early and arrived via C-section. He was immediately wisked away from us and went to the NICU. The nurse was so freaking mean to me for literally no reason. She wouldn't roll my bed down to him or vise versa. She said I had to get up and walk there which I couldnt do. It took a long time for the epidural to wear off and after it did, I was in so much pain and wasnt given anything for it. An hour after he was born, she came to try to get me in a wheelchair but I was still numb and paralyzed and she put in my chart that I "denied" to go see my son. That all traumatized me so much that I never went on to have any more kids. Being sliced open from hip to hip and Pulling a baby out is really really painful! It always left me with such bad anxiety for surgeries I have endured and will endure in the future!

Mum cried and didn't want to leave without me so she shared flat with another patient. But tove like that today is disgusting what was put in your notes I would have photographed and got legal advice that women shouldn't be a nurse hope you're both doing well

@dasaneesha Жыл бұрын
I don't think the mother's weight has got anything to do with maintaining a pregnancy - for there are several overweight women who have given birth to healthy, term babies. If weight would have been the cause then doctors would have suggested an abortion earlier on in the pregnancy.
