Sextuplets: The Little Lambs' tells the extraordinary story of the Lamb family. Vicky and Andy Lamb are the first parents of sextuplets born in Britain for 17 years.
Vicky suffers from polycystic ovaries - a common fertility problem affecting ovulation and hormone production. To conceive the couple's first child Grace - who is now five years old - she took the fertility drug Clomid. Later, Andy and Vicky again used Clomid - not understanding fully the risk of multiple births.

Can't imagine the anguish of deciding to have a reduction of fetuses. Get rid of a baby to give the others a better chance. No one should judge a parent forced to make it. Glad they tried for all six. RIP to Mattew and Pippa, and best wishes to this family.

The parents remind me of Gavin and Stacey! So nice to see parents on the same wavelength. No egos, just caring. Everyone gets crabby when they are tired. So glad they are aware of Graces needs. So often the ‘normal child’ is forgotten (unintentionally)

I really like this couple. They both have so much empathy and you can see how grief stricken they are after losing the 2 babies, especially the mum. Watching this makes me homesick even though I have lived in the U.S. for 37 years now. Awww Grace is a sweet heart holding her siblings. ❤

I know that this is over 5-6 years now,..but, if these parents see this comment,..I hope and pray that they are doing well today with their family. I loved how compassionate and wonderful that you both are in life. Such loving and caring parents that any baby should/would want to be born into. I can’t even begin to imagine how worrisome and busy this part of your lives were at this time. At first I felt so sorry for you both (well I am sorry for the loss of two babies),.. but as I began to see it,….this particular and unusual situation brings more closeness within a marriage,..with family as well. God Bless your beautiful family and hope you all are doing well in life.❤️

This is such a beautiful testament to the world of how to love and raise a family. These parents are absolutely amazing with the love for each child and each other. Daddy is a great role model and mommy so devoted to her love of him and they just click like brick. It's really a match made in heaven. Sweet big sister, so well adjusted isn't worried about the babies getting more attention since they have come into her life. I am so saddened that two sweet souls didn't have a fighting chance to stay in the world. I pray for them and know they'll all be together for it is written. God Bless and keep them all

What a great couple. This is the kind of couple needed for a job with this many babies at once. I really felt for the mother every time she would break down and cry. For those unfamiliar with postpartum the first year is really difficult. It comes out in women in many different ways. It’s not always a depression, but there is a sense that something is missing inside and the hormones also seem go a bit crazy as they return to normal. I truly cannot imagine how unbelievably difficult it would be to handle that postpartum and lose two little babies. This woman who may look weak when she cries is entirely the opposite her strength is going to be the pillar of that family.

I have a great niece who was due around the end of November but was born Aug. 13th. She weighed 1 lb. 6 ozs. and was 14" long. Her head was the size of a tennis ball. The doctors told her parents she would be a vegetable...never walk, talk, hold her head up, she'd be blind, deaf, unable to speak. She turns 24 this Aug. She has slight cerebral palsy and wears glasses (as do lots of us in the family) but otherwise she proved all the naysayers wrong. She's our miracle girl. FWIW, her father (my nephew) is the one who made me an aunt for the first time. That seems like forever ago. lol

Cerebral Palsy is a condition that has a variety of symptoms which don't always apply to every person so each person is different. It also isn't immediately present at birth and tends to be diagnosed at 2-3 years of age. It's a lifelong condition that caused by a problem in the brain and it affects coordination and movement. It can cause difficulty with walking and inability to walk and generally just problems in movement but the severity and symptoms vary by case. It can also cause problems such as learning difficulties, sight and hearing problems.

How she managed to successful give birth is still amazing to me. Higher order pregnancies are almost always preterm. Many times premature labor is a result of preterm premature rupture of the membranes (PPROM). PPROM is rupture of the membranes prior to the onset of labor in a patient who is less than 37 weeks of gestation. They are at increased risk for having long-term problems such as mental retardation, cerebral palsy, vision loss, and hearing loss. Frequent prenatal care increases the chance of detecting and treating preeclampsia. Adequate prenatal care also decreases the risk of developing a serious problem from preeclampsia for both the babies and the mother. If you are pregnant with multiples it does not necessarily mean that you will have a cesarean birth. The typical recommendation for the delivery of triplets and higher order multiples is a cesarean, but twins are often delivered vaginally. Like in my case. My surrogate in Bio tex delivered twins vaginally with no problems at all.

God bless you I'm so very sorry for the loss of Pippa and Matthew I have a Matthew Sean he's 24 years old , you 2 and are wonderful parents and it truly warms my heart and I understand in situations like this these tragic unfair things can happen with premie births but you good people definitely didn't deserve this and you wonder why didn't it have to be 😢 your sweet little babies will always be with you ❤️ may your children have long healthy lives love Desiree Sorenson from Boone Iowa United States..

They are such a lovely family - well done. When I was having twins although it was wonderful I was very aware, as that doctor, said that even with twins there is a much increased risk of prematurity and disabilities so multiples are not always a blessing. However mine were born later than any of my children at exactly 40 weeks to the day and naturally. Very rare for twins. I was so pleased. This programme is good also because people just hear the happy stories but in fact a lot of multiples do not make it as here so it is realism. Good luck to them all.

I love that in England, the responses to "there's four of them" are "Oh, well done!" In America, there are an unfortunately large number who would be saying things like, "Why did you have that many?" Good for England!

My firstborn had colic which I now believe comes from being a first time mom and I felt as overwhelmed as Vicky. She should be so very proud of how she is managing. No bigger job exists than raising a child! She's amazing to say the least! God Bless her! I just want to hug her.

As it turned out my firstborn withe colic died in 2005; he was 39 years old and had rapid generative scoliosis from 15. I miss him sooooo much. He was my first born and only son. His Dad passed in 1992. We both missed his Dad profusely. Life is a tough at times.

@@joanneanderson6535 oh my, I'm truly sorry for ur loss! This hurts my heart & makes me cry! My deepest Condolences to u & the rest of ur family, it's not right to bury your child, Did ur son have kids or was he married? I sadly lost my adult daughter in 2010, due to untreated Pneumonia, but it was her Lupus that took her fighting chances away! it will be 13 years this Aug & still feels like yesterday! She was 26 yrs old & left her 2 babies behind, they are now 16&18! (In this documentary the sextuplets were born July 7, 2010 & Grace was 5! My daughter was born July 10th (in 1984) but died Aug 6, 2010 & her son Tyler was 5 like Grace! It hits me hard over the years & there has been much heartache! I know U will always miss ur son, it was around the 5 yr anniversary mark of her death that the grief slammed me in the face harder & different than the grief I had experienced the first 5 yrs! I even checked myself into my local mental health unit! It was very helpful to learn some new tools & to give myself Grace, & time to heal! Pls, u do the same! Give yourself plenty of space & time to grieve any way u want to, & the peace to know he is always w you! I know I truly believe I'll see her in Heaven & I rely on my faith w God! I have some family members when I have felt sad & wanted to talk that they'd say "we will see her in heaven" as if the subject is not closed& being a Christian I believe that also but I finally tell ppl when they say that to me, is : "yes I know I will see Kelly one day in Heaven, but today, right now I'm missing her terribly & wld like to give her a Hug PHYSICALLY!& I need compassion& empathy from u pls. & Not to be dismissed!" And that sentence seems to stop them in their tracks & they realize , I asked for what I needed, so I will get an ear to listen to me, or shoulder to cry on! Sending u light joy & peace as well as my deepest sympathy & Condolences dear

When the doctor describes pushing a needle into their hearts so casually, made me cringe.. 😩🥺 we got pregnant with twins when our daughter was 8 weeks old and similar to this couple, it took us many years (10) after our first child to have our second. Never started clomid but almost did. I know it’s not the same but for some reason it feel so similar. Bless this family. They’re amazing
