How unfair to expect Chris & Dianne to dance in a limited space with all the other couples for the Sambathon. They should have allowed Chris & Dianne to dance first for a few mins on the floor to give them space and freedom and also for safety reasons and then brought the other couples onto the floor. So so unfair and not thoughtful to Chris & Dianne or to Chris's needs.

On DWTS in the states, when they have these danceathons, they typically have a designated square/space on the floor lit up for each team. Then after a chunk of couples are eliminated, they open it up more - not sure why they didn’t do this too, especially considering Chris is blind.

I think that they were wise to do this elimination-style. That must have helped the judges and made it slightly less chaotic, for those of us watching from home. I do agree that this challenge was unfair to Chris, in how it was implemented.

JB was a very deserving winner 👏🏼 🎉 although I feel Pete should have came last. More fiddling of the scoreboard by the lady captain. Also Chris done really well to attempt the samba-thon, it must’ve been quite daunting for him. Samba is tricky, so good on them all for giving it a go!

I raised a complaint to the BBC. I had enough. Consistent undermarking is one thing, but knowingly putting a blind person into a disadvantaged position (not to mention potentially unsafe) is plain discrimination.

I wish less camera time was given to the judges. Frankly I couldn’t care less about Craig’s confusion face I only wanna see the dancing. They could’ve cut the judges conversing section and just left audio of them calling them off the eliminated dancer

@@MsKatyDod Before the dance they had seven different scores, afterwards they had five, which means bottom place Pete gets 3 points from the judges. and the judges scores differs by 4 points in total. The public score still goes 1-7 and differs by 6 points in total, so by doing this it makes the public vote have more weight and the judges (including the head judge) know what scores to give to make this happen. The public vote is where Pete does well.

Fun but the disorganization of this with everyone dancing ALL OVER the stage felt hectic and confusing to watch, let alone unfair when a contestant with no vision is on the floor competing, only to swiftly eliminate him first. Hopefully future seasons this idea gets tweaked a bit for everyone's sake.

Love seeing the show embracing what dancing in actual ballroom and latin competitions is like. Though I have to agree with others that it feels rather unfair for Chris and Dianne as it is a LOT happening on the floor at once

@@ally3854 I suspect it's because the producers know that it would be very difficult to get rid of Chris and Pete due to them having people's support and they needed to choose whom to send to the slaughter in the dance-off (which has a high likelihood to be between Jamie and one of producers' favourites). In the event either Chris or Pete is in the dance-off, Jamie will live to see another week. A joke on the producers would be in neither of the three is in the dance-off.

I have watched strictly from the very first series and never in all those years have I been so disappointed and let down by the blatant unfairness and discrimination shown toward a contestant. Craig spoke about floor craft and not crashing into eachother when Chris is at a total disadvantage due to being blind!!! Is it something that slipped their mind? What Dianne and Chris achieve week on week is astounding and a far greater task as Chris has no visual reference. Strictly should be celebrating and promoting Dianne and Chris not penalising them because Chris work commitments prevent him from participating in the Strictly tour. Hard work and the magic Dianne and Chrisi create should be celebrated and rewarded not disregarded because it doesn't fit the "powers that be" requirements.

I don't know why they're attempting to bring this back, can hardly see what anybody is doing! Particularly with the cuts to the judges and whichever couple is leaving the floor, why do we need to see that?! And it just seems too difficult for the judges to judge in the amount of time that they've got!

I don’t think it was prepared. Shirley was writing in the book, I think he was checking who’s name she crossed off to make sure he didn’t call out the wrong couple.

This samba - thon should have been like the cha cha challenge in 2016. Or like in others Dwts where in a part of the choreo each couple dance the same steps and then individually dance their own steps, in that way would be more organized, artistic and not chaotic. What a mess! you can hardly watch anyone, I did think the judges set up was rather cutesy but it was more about them than the dancing 😂. JB was a worthy winner, I probably would have swapped Jamie and Pete but apart from that it was the correct order

I don’t mind the thon idea but it should last a few songs. Gives us time to actually see every couple and understand the rankings. I see a lot of people upset about jamie vs pete but in this I agree. Jamia messed up his timing and a few turna. Pete wasn’t better than his best but better than his worst if that makes sense. A similar thing happened with Montell, her arms wobbled twice and she got put out. Also the cutting to judges and back started to cause me feelings of sickness.

They literally gave Chris 40 secs to dance before taking him out? How is he even supposed to show them what he can do if they dont let him do it. Brining back the voting each couple off one by one was unfair. Just bring in a team dance next time. Two teams against each other

My ranking: 7. Pete & Jowita- not a whole lot of samba, a bit too much shaking about for me, but this whole challenge was to have fun and he definitely gave it a good go, and he looked like he enjoyed it. 6. Chris & Dianne- I do feel sorry for them, they didn’t get much time to impress, but he once again overcooked the bounce. My reason for putting them above Pete & Jowita is that they at least did more samba despite being on the floor for less time. 5. Jamie & Michelle- they started off good but I think I spotted a few mistakes, which unfortunately knocked him below the top 4. 4. Sarah & Vito- this is where it started to get very tight. She had great spotting on her turns, good leg actions as well. My reason for putting her below the others is their choreography began to get repetitive. But she did an amazing job. 3. Montell & Johannes- the SASS was off the scale. She owned the performance, I saw great body action. She didn’t stand out as much as the top 2 for me, but she still killed it. 2. JB & Lauren- he deserved to win based on his rhythm and body action alone. His ability to lead Lauren was outstanding, and he kept the energy up until the end, which is probably why he won. A little heavy in places, but JB has rightfully joined the gallery of samba kings. 1. Tasha & Aljaž- every time I looked at her she was doing something insanely good. My eye was drawn to them the most, her technique was great, lovely spotting on her turns, she was probably moving the fastest out of everyone hence why they were both so out of brrath at the end, but I think they deserved to win. Overall this was so much fun! I’m glad they brought it back, probably should’ve done it last year because I think this year’s cast has a few that weren’t as on top of the challenge as I imagine some of last year’s crew (Layton, Ellie, Bobby, Nigel, Annabel & Angela Scanlon) would’ve been, but considering none of them have done this before, I was very impressed. I hope Strictly continues this challenge as it was very entertaining and spiced the competition up.

I am happy that they brought back the dance a thon however things this uncovers 1 Samba is not for a dance a thon Charleston or swing is but not Samba and 2 it shows the judgers at the weakest uncovering who they think will do best in winning the show and who will need help to get to the final thought the general public vote.

Whisky Tango Foxtrot, Strictly? Even putting aside that it was a very underhanded tactic, it was potentially very unsafe. At the competitions dancers are professionals, they know how to avoid each other and even then collisions happen. And here we have a bunch of amateurs plus a blind person. Un-bloody-believable.
