If you drink yourself to death is the brand of alcohol responsible? No. It's sad to see stories like this, but they happen, there needs to be more harm reduction being taught to people and situations like this will happen less often. The best form of harm reduction is abstinence, but it's clear this doesn't work as humans will always take drugs, we have for thousands of years, the best way forward to educate people on how to do them safely.

In no way the guys fault. He TOLD him to not take too many because they're strong. He didn't listen and took 3 and that killed him. I've rolled many times safely in the right doses, in moderation, staying cool, and drinking the right amount of water. The thing is though, nobody can really know what is in a tablet off the dark web. So if the advice was, for example, "just take one and no more", that could still be enough to kill you depending on how strong the drug is. Illegal drugs aren't regulated, so it's hard to give advice in comparison to alcohol, where drinks have a clear indication of the % and the units

3 1 / 0 3 it wasn’t but he’s got a very good point, why tell people not to do drugs when they are one 100% going to take them anyway? Especially teens. The fact is telling someone not to do something will not stop them from doing it and that’s why what should be taught is how to do it safely. Starting with half a tab in a more controlled environment should be how people start but instead they start with 2-3 in a club and end up dying. You will never ever be able to stop people from getting or using drugs, the only thing we can do is focus on harm reduction if we really want to help anyone.

Growing up in a major city with around youth and young adults using drugs I just heard to only take one then wait an hour and a half at least before taking a second. Personally, I always waited to take mine until my friends started feeling the effects of theirs. I feel sorry for the 'dealer'. He was just a friend who knew how to get them off the dark web, he probably thought he was doing a good thing because they were probably cheaper for the group. Luke and everyone were going to bang a pill regardless of the source. Chances are, the 'dealer' sourced them cheaper and safer pills that weren't cut (since vendors get loads of reviews and the pills are tested). He even gave Luke advice on how many to take. If he had got prison time it wouldn't have been moral justice in my opinion. Poor guy, but more importantly poor Luke.

I've been taking ecstasy for 20 years now and have never had any problems. Just make sure you educate yourself in self care, care for others and reading the situation you are in. Knowing when to stop and how to dose is also very important. It's far less dangerous and life destroying than alcohol.

People will always take drugs and it is far better to encourage education and minimising risk than saying just don't do drugs. Me and my mates where told that our whole lives and look where that got us lol. If you live in a city and go clubbing, which a high percentage of young people do, there's a good chance you will take drugs. I know most of the adults I knew growing up had at least tried them. Much better to prevent deaths than punish/ shame people for trying it.

Thing is, you need to test em. Make sure they are okay and never take a whole one unless you know exactly how much MDMA they contain (some are lighter then others). I hear this guy popped whole pills and prolly untested from some rando from the darkweb. Not saying there are no risks to illegal drugs even if you do take the right precautions. You should always just take half a tablet and it see what happens from a certain batch, you don't know the mix of it give it 3 or 4 hours and see what the effect is. one tablet should be enough for a night if it's made correctly or DMA crystals more Potent but cleaner. If you've taken DMA before or not don't assume, that it's all the same try it out first in a small quantity! ideally not in a party situation to see what it's like with friends not alone! buy a big enough batch of the same so you know when you want to use it for partying hopefully you'll have the same dosage. still in the circumstances take only half well beforehand then top it up with the other heart if you feel comfortable after 4 hours. You got to know what you're taking that's why this poor boy died he overdosed. Be sensible out there don't go in blindly don't take it too often at least 3 or 4 months gap in between shouldn't be done regularly

John sweda I did just this in the 80s when in high school. All my friends decided to drop acid. It was a little piece of paper you put on your tongue. I was scared to do the whole thing. I had tried mushrooms once before but was scared to try acid. I ripped the little paper in half and threw the rest on the floor. i overdosed on molly/mdma 3 days ago. i had ate nothing the entire day and drank minimal water. i bought 1 capsule/pill each with one of my mates and then another mate picked us up and dropped us a secluded creek (far enough to blast music on a huge speaker and no one could hear) where me and my friends kick back and normally smoke weed. in the car our mate that picked us up managed to convince us to buy more (about 2x the amount we already took) and we took that about 20-40 minutes after we took out first. everything was going to plan and started to kick in. it was about 7:30pm, i had no data on my phone and my other friend had no battery at all along with neither of us having any money on us at all. it was just us at this point. after getting excited that everything was going to plan, as two 16 year olds would, we were just chatting and everything felt normal then suddenly i just vomitted. i stood there in complete confusion whilst my mate stared at me with the same look. "why did i just do that" i said. suddenly i continued to throw up and started getting extremely hot. i then started to sweat so much it looked like i just walked out of the shower. i kept throwing up and chugged all the available water we had (about 2L) but because of the extreme rate i was sweating i doubt it really made a difference. i already had a somewhat thorough knowledge of how an mdma overdose worked. i knew that the brain swells as the body overheats and loses water, leading to death (dont quote me on that). i became drowsy and stressed to my mate that i need water. i said "*name* i need water or i will die." he said "take your closes of and get in the water i'll be back" (small shallow pond about 2-3 feet deep in the area we were). i didnt question it and stripped into my underwear as best i could in started to walk in. i said the closest tap/water fountain is about a 20-30 minute walk/run. he said i wont be long and disappeared. i felt myself going in and out of consciousness whilst lying in the water with my head barely afloat, so i knew i needed to get out so i wouldnt pass out and drown before i even died from the overdose. i stumbled out, drenched, freezing, shaking and barely conscious. i walked about 4 meters over to the flat ground (rock, as it was an open creek) and kind of just fell onto the ground with the intention of lying down. i was gagging from the urge to vomit, i felt like i had the most painful migraine ever and i was probably still sweating (couldn't tell cause i was drenched). i remember thinking to myself "i guess this is where i die, im okay with this, i had some good times" i started to go in an out of consciousness a lot more and remember deciding to roll onto my side so i wouldnt pass out and choke on my own vomit. i had given up. my body was exhausted and i could barley move. at this point i was passed out and dont know how long. i hear my mate screaming and running in my direction with a bottle of water in his hand. a store owner said he could just have it. my memory is pretty choppy at this point because i was barley awake but i just remember chugging the water he gave me with all the life left in me. that friend that sold us the second amount of mdma had driven 40 minutes back to us with water, powerade and food. i dont know how he knew as my memory was pretty choppy from then. they took care of me and i was starting to properly wake up about 30 minutes later. ive been struggling with depression for a long time now and repetitive suicidal thoughts arent uncommon. i have never been so greatful to be alive ever. im unable to sleep at night from the trauma i guess and i thought writing this might give me some closure. for whoever does read this my message to all is that you always stay hydrated when taking illegal drugs, tell someone that youre doing it and where you are or have someone keep an eye on you for your own saftey, PORTION AND REGULATE WHAT YOURE TAKING, dont take it somewhere secluded (to a degree) and test what youre taking. it is crazy lucky i am to still be here. i was so close to death and i was certain i was going to die alone on the ground waiting for my mate to come back to see my corpse on the ground. i dont blame anyone for what happened execpt myself and i owe my friend my life. please be safe.

It's funny really - seeing all these people up in their high horses in the comment section preaching that you "shouldn't do drugs", "serves you right" etc. What these people don't understand is that the likes of legal substances ie alcohol, tobacco and pharmaceuticals are just as dangerous (if not more) and I guarantee that these same people are either smokers, drinkers or on some kind of pharma. Don't get me wrong, I'm not demonizing alcohol and the likes in anyway (okay, well tobacco seems unjustified as fuck to me but each to their own) I love my fair share but you can't be waltzing round demonizing other substances when the ones you are more than likely consuming on a regular basis have the same if not more potential for abuse/harm. yesterday i did about 625mg (2/5 pills) i was extremely close at having a heatstroke, my temperature was through the roof. i was outside for the most of the trip. i didn’t know what was happening. objects like traffic signs looked like tall people with red or blue clothes. i was never alone i always had a close friend beside me, idk how much water i consumed but is wasn’t enough. i’m so thankful that i survived.

I took ecstasy in the mid 90’s several times (Texas) and it was literally like being on another planet. I mean our jaws were so protruded out, and the teeth grinding was so extreme that having conversations were extremely difficult. Then there was the eyes rolling way back in your head etc.. and every 60 seconds you completely forgot what you were talking about. I’m guessing that time period of pills that they were cut with heroin I guess because early 2000’s I’d be out and people would be at bars having regular conversations talking about they were on X and i ‘d be thinking man that’s not the same shit we did cause we literally had to stay in and do it with a small group of people , there’s no way we could have been functional out at bars etc..

i got drugged with 3 pills. i don’t know how or why i’m here but they didn’t take me to the hospital & i dont wish this to happen to anyone. im 100% sure it was ecstasy. i had no feeling in my body couldnt feel any touch on my skin, kept blacking out it was super hot at the same time (so hot that i was cold)i had every single emotion come out. it was so scary. i thought i was dead & in hell being tortured it wouldnt stop. luckily my parents took me to my home & said i was pale. i lost a few days of consciousness. please dont receive anything from anyone & be careful with your drinks at the club! especially if youre an attractive person. people will find any way to try to hurt you!worst part is that the guy who drugged me seemed to not have sympathy as i feel like he’s used to doing this to many girls! he is still in the army and cops and detectives havent done anything. i decided to let karma do it’s thing someday and to forgive him and move on. as much as it was traumatic and painful i might never forget this night, but i’m glad i have a second chance at life. message me on instagram if you have any questions @elysvnn

RESPECT THE DRUG When taking pills take half even quarter, allow at least 45 mins to see how you feel. Sip water throughout the rave, but never gulp fast take time. Try & take note of how long you've actually been raving for. Get fresh air. If you do go off alone at least try and check in with friends. Remember you have taken drugs, especially if the buzz goes sideways. Drink water.

As a seasoned xtacy user I have experienced all manner of good trips and bad ones and I sympathize with the lose of this boys life. What I find hard to understand is why is it in this day and age with all the information you could ever want at your finger tips! and the ability to buy testing kits online people are still doing stupid things like taking three pills in one session. MDMA in its pure form is not dangerous there is tons of research online to back this up and if taken in small amounts and tested your risk factor is greatly reduced. People will always want to take drugs so why isn’t the government helping in educating people on how to reduce your risk, free testing kits would be a start? And I wish the BBC would stop with this shock tactic shows on “drugs are bad” shows ! Why don’t they try to educate people instead of trying to scare people.

My friend died from drugs a mutual friend gave him and at first I was like a bat out of hell on a mission to get him but the guilt alone took its own toll and seeing him a year later I saw karma got revenge for me and now I've forgiven him because even though he gave him the drugs my friend still took them himself it was his own fault. This is sad and i feel sympathy for the family, but this episode doesn’t highlight that you should only take half and more if you feel like it (no more than one pill). It’s these type of videos that make MDMA and other substances look really bad, in reality it’s just moderation and being sensible.

The best method to stop deaths like these is always to not take it in the first place BUT just telling people to not take it doesn't work. If MDMA was put into national curriculum it could stop deaths like these happening as people understand what it does to your body and how overdosing is lethal. The no drugs campaigns that were ran in schools clearly did absolutely nothing, because a lot of people still take them. "Don't be daft, start with half" for example, is such a good slogan to put out there. They understand that people are going to do these drugs anyway, so they tell them how to do it safely 🙏

His friend “the dealer” who gave the pills to him did not force him to take the pills, he took them by his own choice. Ecstasy by itself is a relatively safe drug if consumed in safe dosages and following harm reduction measures. It is important for you to buy and use test kits and mg scales that will tell you what the substance is before you consume them and to weigh out the dosage. Stay hydrated while dancing in hot environments. It is likely that the substance that he took was not MDMA or he had an existing problem.

I'm 38 and the exact same thing happened to me when I was 22. But it was not my first time taking ecstasy. My mate gave a pill that he got a few weeks back at a festival off a stranger and never took it. We were in my other mates gaf and he gave it to me and I overdosed. I had taken a few already that night. Long story short I am diagnosed with epilepsy now for the rest of my life. Which I consider myself lucky because I could of easily ended up like this young lad. Took it for over a year and I'm clean since August. If you think you gotta take mdma only do it ever few month and get it tested so you know what's in it. It can seriously mess up your serotonin levels. I took it because I have depression and anxiety disorder, I basically couldn't party without feeling anxious and depressed so I took it. Went to techno parties and everything but then I got more nervous when I took it. You get muscle spasms in your jaw and you sweat so fucking much it's actually disgusting. You HAVE to drink enough water or you'll dry out and just collapse. Sure, you are happy and very talkative but that doesn't last especially if you take too much. I'm always super hyper at the beginning and get more and more tired of doing stuff which leads to me just sitting on a couch (only 2 hours after I took it) and observing the room. Just staring at the walls. Doing nothing. It can have long term side effects like hallucinations so please think wisely if you're planning to take it

It sounds like you didn't weight your dose and took over your body weight. I've done plenty doses from 70-250mg you only get those effects past 180mg which only an obese person would use. Next time weight your self and add 1.5mg to each kilo ,NOT POUNDS then you'll find you dose. Not to mention it won't deplete your serotonin levels of you avoid taking it ever single week but talking to half of the people in this comment section is like talking to a brick wall so why am I wasting my time.

If anyone is considering taking this substance but feels pressured because of either peers or fear then I advise you to cut it in half and do a half then do the other half later that way you don’t get a terrible comedown from taking to many but also you get a longer high with less chance of risk because your not taking a fat dose such as 3 pills. This is for educational purpose and I’m saying this because it’s to spread awareness because a lot of people fall victim to the peer pressure and end up ruining their mental well being.

This is a dreadful video, it focuses on this horror story to try and persuade people to not take md whilst failing to give the actual messages that would have saved this boys life. 1. Test your pills so you know what substance yo are taking for sure 2. Dose properly, 100mg will be enough for the user to enjoy the night and simultaneously not endanger them. 3. Avoid mixing with a lot alcohol, I don't understand the chemistry but the drug becomes toxic when mixed with alcohol 4. Avoid taking in a hot place and if this is not possible have a space to cool down, tbf the video covers that one 5. Wait at least 3 months before taking md agin as your serotonin receptors need a chance to recover, taking too frequently builds up a tolerance making the experience less enjoyable and can lead to the user struggling to find happiness whilst sober. People take drugs, calls for abstinence don't work. A video like this needs to be far more focused on giving harm reduction advice.
