I made this today for me and my bf! He’s allergic to dairy and eggs so he often gets vegan stuff at restaurants. He had a similar jackfruit meal and asked if we could make an attempt. I followed this recipe and he said it tasted just like the restaurant’s version!

Ripe Jackfruit tastes like a sweet pear\apple with a slight red onion after taste. If its fresh its waxy and has a nice snap crunch.

@@chelsieslayden130 It came out sooo good, thank you for asking! I slightly amended it though, added sliced small portobellos with it, and instead of the pickled cabbage (I’m allergic), I did LTO. I made this again and did a bbq jerk jackfruit sandwich with vegan mac & cheese and that was poppin as well. I love this channel, she stay making great eats & give me ideas😊

I Love Jack Fruit. I’m not vegan but I use it as a meat substitute. Pulled pork, stir fry, tacos, stuffed peppers, It’s great! Thanks for your post. BTW Your gorgeous😎

That looks so good, where did you find your buns? I haven't been eating bread for awhile because I didn't know there was vegan bread or buns. I got to try this because I use to love me some pull pork on bun, Thank you for this recipe. 🥰

Very nice dish but I use the young fresh jackfruit from the tree and cook it and I use more herbs and spices like cayenne pepper, garlic, parsley and celery. Sometimes I use curry or turmeric. One has to be creative in the kitchen.

Oh I have not worked with fresh jackfruit. Once the jackfruit is green and young there shouldn’t be a tremendous difference. 👍🏽
