This is Part 3 of a 3 part series on the BBSHD Install. For more information on offsets check out this post: electricbike.c...
One of the challenges of installing a bbshd is picking from the different chainrings available to get just the right chainring. We think the closer to the frame the better to give you the best possible chain line. Here we show you how different chain rings might work for different bikes and how to pick the right one. Look to our channel for the other 2 movies.

LEKKIE bling ring HD data: 1) 28T/32T/36T =only 5.2mm offset, (because the diameter for these sprockets are to small for wrapping around BBSHD) 2) 42T/46T = 18.3mm offset, (Wraps around) 3) 52T =16.3mm offset, (Wraps around. Perhaps they made this with 2mm less offset, to make it possible to use 3) outside 2) for a dual setup. PERHAPS it could work with spacers, nobody knows... Material CNC 7075 T6 Alloy Sizes: (28T, 32T)*, 36T, 42T, 46T, 52T *Under developement/ not yet in market Weight: 28T 70gm, 32T 82gm, 36T 104 gm, 42T 168gm, 46T 208gm, 52T 234gm

Time to break out the metric ruler and caliper tomorrow! Just swapped out my old BBSO2 with a HD, and the Bafang aluminum 42T sprocket is about one chain width off, just by looking down the chain from the rear wheel. Didn't get two trips around the block without chain drop. I'm about to drop a dime on the Lekkie, but want to measure first. I'll assume Lekkie measures offset from inside flange to center of teeth. I'll also assume, from all the different measurements in the comments, that Luna measures offset from the inside of flange to the table top the sprocket is sitting on instead of center of teeth.

You didn't even look at whether the chain lined up properly on the gears.

on the forum there was a guy that did the exact bike that i have and he said he used the bbshd 100mm and he he used a slightly offset crank arm on the left side and one chain ring spaser to get a better chain line but he didn't say what chainring he used but from the pics he posted it looked like the stock chainring

I fitted a bafang 750w the other day, I bought spacers just incase but it worked out bad ass, I got use of all 8 gears on back, Well impressed with my first bafang build, Went smooth, Glad i did, Now i can fix it if anything goes wrong, But i can say that a carerra hellcat lmt edition is an amazing doner bike, I will be buying a lekkie, When i can afford it, But yeah my hellcat lmt edition is bad ass, Eye catcher thats for sure, Amen for bafang conversion kits, I suffer CPTSD, Its going to help loads knowing its me myself an hellcat an can travel without getting hypervigilance symtoms, Cant use my electric moster scooter in the UK no more, An being a law abiding citezen, I try stay within all the rules...

I cant use 750W bike even 500W. Only legal is 250W only as supporting when u turn with your legs... driven by the throttle is not legal, and up to 25kmh and 48V max. Anything above you have to have it registered, mot, and so on and the top is you cant use bike paths anymore road only. So... you have to go under ground and buy 500W convert do not use throttle and clean the serial numbers or mock those. Bafang should make also a simple block option to make it legal from menu with 2 or 3 cliks when some bike patrol catch you. Greetings from Poland

@@adamt3332 I watch a dude called wrong way, On KZbin, Check his channel out if you aunt heard of him, Dudes on the ball with PEV's, I seen a video of him doing a bafang 750w conversation an he in Poland, I wanna thank your country by the way, For helping Ukraine how they are is a blessing sent, I got admiration for the Polish pilot's during WW2, Helped the UK nor get invaded, So it's only fair the UK an the world puts a stop to putins madness... I'm pretty sure the company I bought my bafang from would send it to Poland, Motorider, I had it delivered in 2days, From Europe, Not any issue whatsoever, Put just over 400 miles on it, Bafang is the way to go, I'm hoping to do a CYC Pro conversion in the summer on a downhill frame, Just at the moment paying bills is swallowing all my spare funds, Still tho seeing the war scenes happening at the moment I am blessed with what I have got, I wish I was in a position to help Ukraine, I can try donate a few quid but it feels so little, Buy yeah massive big up to Poland..... I feel the laws around the speed limits ect will change, As an argument is made it is unsafe, Too slow to react to oncoming hazards, Plus if you pedal hard enough you can go pretty fast on a mountain bike, 30 mph in the right conditions, So yeah an argument is being made its unsafe not to have the power to avoid accidents, Even with your bike able to do 30 mph you never do, I don't, My average is about 8 mph, lol, It's purely for commute tho, I suffer complex ptsd, Public transport is a no go for me, Busy shops, Busy places makes my head go weird, So my little E-bike is important for me, I use helmet aswell, I only go crazy fast on Assetto Corsa lol, But yeah even if your bike goes fast you never do, When it's only for commuting you don't tend to ride crazy anyways, I got a 1600w electric monster scooter, But I prefer my bike now, Everyone looks at me on the scooter lol, But yeah I only go slow on my bike bro, Check the Motorider on Ebay he got a selection of bafangs bro, Honest delivered really fast, An not one problem touching oak, The bafang is a top motor worth every penny that's for sure, Again big up for Poland doing what they are for the Ukrainians..... Stay safe yeah......

I don't have issue on my hellcat with bbs02b aswell, unlock to 25 amps 😂. Now i build new Vulcan lmtd and i find is better than my hellcat i love it. But this time i install bbshd 52v. Big change bro , trust me. But the offeet is too out, that why now i need to order some new chainring to get back inside this teeth and have better allighment. I can't use better gear above 4 (3 2 1) aswell after 5 from steady position , when getting speed because of the torq , the chain start jump and skip teeth at rear.

@@ivanpetrov2280 You is reminding me, I got to do a BOT, Make sure everything is tight and nothing loose, One thing I found how oddly enough things can get loose on an E-bike, lol, I need to get some lock tight to be honest as well, It is something I never think of getting is lock tight lol, I am the same with flux, I always forget to but it when I can, lol, I have got to get on the E-bike a bit more now the weather is changing, Diagnosed with a crappy Heart condition along with the CPTSD, I should be forcing myself to go out on the E-bike a lot more, I have issues going out a lot lately, I am struggling with the mental side of things at the moment, I got a block in the left part or something, And having sudden death in the family is sort of niggling in my head all the time, Sorry for the Psyc message lol, I am just having issues at the moment and I would be lying if I said the E-bike is only come out for the time I need to use the E-bike and not going out for rides to get my head straightened out so to speak, I do want to try a camping mission for a night or two, I want to go up to Breckon Beacons and do some photography, I have never tried photographing the wild, I think it might be something I would enjoy as it is something you normally do on your own, I got problems with busy crowds, I find going to a city difficult, Hypervigilance is an issue, So if I am up the mountains or in some woodlands taking pics of nature, Maybe it might be therapeutic for me, I have found Sim Racing, lol, Sim Racing in VR is nothing short of fantastic, The Quest 2 linked to a gaming PC is brilliant, I am going to look to see if Meta got apps to help with mental health, It could be a safe way of trying to get past the fears I have, I can see VR helping a lot of people, Stroke victims can benefit from using the Oculus, It is working for people who suffered a stroke, Terrible illness a stroke is, I would not wish that on no-one, So yeah I do plan on getting back to the E-bike lark, I have an Electric monster scooter I need to get controllers and a battery for, Those monster scooter are great fun, When you do off road scooter stuff, It is like a work out, Arm burn happens fast, lol, It not all just standing up when off roading on a Monster scooter, I hope personal electric vehicles becomes more accepted in the UK, Having a bike that goes past 15 mph illegal, Is only going to create anger between the public and the police, They got it right in America with the E-bike laws, 750w is a perfect amount of power giving a bit more for peak for the hills, I do hope PEV transport becomes a thing, It will help take cars of the roads, Making it easier to spot the up to no gooder's on the roads, Instead of criminals using busy traffic to hide the fact they is doing illegal things, I bet a lot of crazy stuff goes down now on the roads now these days, If people was able to use electric scooter, Electric unicycles, Wouldn't there be less cars on the roads,? I think the Army should use an Electric unicycle, You can cover crazy ground on an E-Wheel, Just look at Wrong Way, lol, I know you have seen Wrong Way, That dude is like Batman on a Unicycle, If you can skate though, Then you can unicycle, So I was told, I am still yet to try an E-Wheel, If PEV transport was more a thing that was accepted, More E-wheels would be made allowing companies to sell them for cheaper, I don't understand the anger some people get about Electric scooter's or even electric bikes, Some looks I gets from older generation, Because I rides my bike on the pavement, O only go slow, And the roads is just too dangerous for an E-bike, People don't look and get mad at people on E-bikes, So now I choose to go slow on the pavement, I got a Go Pro recording as well.... I do have to get back int the E-bike thing more, And reading your message have sort of boosted me to do so, I will do the BOT over the weekend and start going out for some bike rides with a camera.... Happy E-biking, And stay safe while on your bike yeah, Peace........

@dallasangler
@dallasangler 8 жыл бұрын
For only one tooth to bend in this manner may suggest a mismatch chain. Check the marking on the chain for 9- speed, 7-speed , etc designation. Then check to see that matches the number of gears you are running out back.

It's interesting you said to get that chainring in as close as possible but not touching; however you didn't mention chain alignment from rear sprocket to the motor (i.e. sighting down from the back of the bike to see how straight it is).
@FishyAbody
@FishyAbody Жыл бұрын
You didn’t even attempt to measure the actual chain centerline. As has been pointed out, you could at least put some sprockets on, do a visual, and adjust centerline accordingly.

20.4mm for the one he showed in the video actually. Run it now myself. Started with the Bafang 42t Alloy(only 9mm offset) and was having all kinds of rear derailleur problems(mainly jumping to a higher gear on sharp bumps). The extra 11mm offset from the Lekkie fixed it.

@aaaPcDoctor
@aaaPcDoctor 7 жыл бұрын
You can use the rear derailleur as a chain tensioner if spring rate is strong enough. Just set it with the max - min screws. Chain tension needs to be more flexible when on a full sus bike as chain length changes..
