6:55 Athletes foot spray, that you can get from any pharmacy. Turns into a white powder in seconds. When you hit the ball, it leaves an imprint in the white powder. Wipes off afterwards easily.

Nice one, Chris. If we get the basics right there’s a good chance of scoring well enough, if the putts go in. Played Las Colinas a few years ago an can thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

Hi Chris, generally speaking would you say the set up and thought process with using the 3 wood off the tee should be similar to the driver than to the long irons? Thanks so much.

I have a question about grip and the effects on the club face. For the most part my irons are fine. 5-PW. I can hit the 3&4 well enough, but they have more of a tendency to go off the toe or a bit fat. That is not important here. I am referring primarily to my Driver. Here is why. When I hit my driver, if I try to remain behind the ball and hit the ball on the upswing, I almost always slice the ball. If I take a more downward approach and hit the ball at the bottom of the swing (like a fairway wood) the ball takes a dead straight line, but that line comes off the tee at about 2:00. I can easily adjust and aim farther left. BUT, this is not an efficient swing because, whilst I can hit the ball around 275 yards this way, typical is about 240. My game will not grow by doing this. My question is this: Am I slicing the ball because when the club face comes through the ball it is open and would a stronger grip position assist. I know that there are a lot of factors in a slice so I will try to eliminate one or two: my swing plane is straight, I do not get loose at the top, and I am not outside in. If anything, I am a few degrees inside out. Does this sound like a club-face issue to you where a stronger grip would assist, or does this sound more like a pulling off the ball issue prior to impact? Can you do a video on different strength grips and how they impact the club face at point of impact?

Hi Chris. Can you cover the aspect of picturing the flight of the golfball before your swing, where you want it to go.I find that this helps me a lot and it's amazing how well this works as does thinking about where do you not want it to go. Usually poor shots result. Thanks Chris Peter Thanks Chris Peter

Thanks Chris love your stuff. any chance you could do video on hitting irons and fairway woods off of a tee. I strike them pretty well off the deck with a slight descending contact but really struggle once I play them off tee's. if I try to hit the on the up I seem to get a slice/fade. strangely enough I hit my driver straight.
@weekendgolfer51956 жыл бұрын
If you can hit them well without a tee, why use one?
@swisst23246 жыл бұрын
Weekend Golfer not every tee box has a nice playing surface plus using a tee would to me at least ensure a cleaner contact more often.

Chris, a few years back (while being more active) the driver used to be my go to club - hitting it straight and about 280-310m, making almost all par 5 really fun. Now I hit it as far, but it's really incosistent, so it takes the fun out of playing the driver and taking chances. Would you recomend any "simple strategy" to dial it back in?

Why is my left hand slipping off of the grip on the follow through of my driver
@HardRock066 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the basics. I tend to close my 3W/5W when hitting from the deck or from the fairway, resulting in the a pull left. I've heard of 'sweeping' with the woods but to no positive avail. Any suggestions? I don't carry a 3I and my 4I is 190 and consistent.
@ChrisRyanGolf6 жыл бұрын
Hi Earl, try to swing the same as an iron but with the ball position further forward. Too much of a sweeping motion can cause poor strikes, still try to strike ball then turf as you would with your irons clubs

Foot spray works. You can also use a dry erase marker if you have a silver face driver.

What’s you’re opinion on a shorter driver length?
@ChrisRyanGolf6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ant, yeah I think this can work for many golfers, often easier to hit the centre and can sometimes give greater distance. A good fitting should cover this 👍
