This was very interesting and informative. We have a 20 yr old doulbe wide in Florida that had a bit of water damage. Edit: however i have heard people online say not to use bleach for mold? Something about it only only killing the surface mold and feeding the mold beneath in the wood.

Your videos are so satisfying. I love knowing the rot is gone and replaced with new, solid wood. Thanks for showing us the progress. 🙂

Hi, Becki. Thanks! 🙂 I have been busy working away (back to work) for the past couple of weeks at the project. I thought I should sit down this afternoon and get some of those videos I have been recording posted on KZbin. I realized that I had 4 videos in the camera. This is one of them. Next one will be up on KZbin tomorrow evening.

Could you use foam piping between the rough opening and the window? It comes in different sizes.

Hello, Mark. Yes, it's been a while. I kind of burnt out last fall and decided to take the winter off. Back to it now! 🙂

What Windows would you recommend for a mobile home

Hi, Belinda. This is the fifth mobile home renovation project that I have worked on and I have used the same windows in all of them. Any decent quality vinyl slider window will work. I always use a 2 pane insulated glass. These have low-E glass and are argon filled for energy efficiency. The brand I use is Starline, made locally. To give you an idea of the cost of the windows, for this project I bought 6 windows. They cost me about $3,200 Canadian dollars. That is about $2,500 US dollars at today's exchange rate. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Kinro used to be the company to go to. But it's not in business anymore. If you have old mobile home windows you will have to replace them with house windows, which means reframing and dealing with the exterior. Not easy. I've done it.
