Why a "Racing Tiller??". Because, it has a three speed transmission. Makes it quite a bit faster than your average big box hardware store machines. (especially with a 10 mph road gear!). There simply is nothing better than a BCS tiller. They are built tank tough! It is most certainly a worthy replacement for the poor old Troy Bilt. But, I digress.... this video highlights my efforts to till up some more of what I plowed in one of my last videos, so some late corn can get put in. It does not highlight my efforts to make a movie. I couldn't see the screen on my camera & didn't realize until after the fact that you can't see much else besides the tiller.However, I'm not in the picture much, so your eyes will thank me. ;v)
Regards!!

Those are a good machine. Seedbed looks great, a guy can see why 3 point tillers are popular, from subcompacts to full size tractors.

That little tractor is an amazing machine. It digs deep & will turn some of our hardest ground into potting soil in a couple passes. With all the available attachments, it's a little blue Farmall. Really fits in around here.

I have one and love it but wish 2nd gear was slower and 3rd gear was a lot slower.

Have you tried going with a smaller diameter tire? It won't do much for 3rd, but it will help make 2nd gear a little slower. Third gear is pretty much meant to haul trailers down the road. Only used it once or twice to jog back to the house when a storm was coming.

That's a nice tiller, especially the swinging handles.

I remember when we first got the tiller, we found out about an unsuspecting safety hazard. I always run with the handles offset so I'm walking on solid ground. Had no idea how well the tiller worked until I was done & went to step in the garden. Just about fell on my face. My mother had almost done the same a little while later. Once back on solid ground, she remarked about the great job it did & that the ground was quite fluffy & not chunky like it had been. She always did like that tiller!

One of the few videos online demo-ing the attachment on spills that has sods to break up and not just already prepared soil

I'm glad you mentioned that. Didn't notice, until now, that most of the videos on BCS tillers show it working up turned earth. I'll make a video in the spring better illustrating the tiller working up sod. Regards!

@@ikonseesmrno7300 Well actually it's not only done by the BCS company but it's also done by quite a lot of other brand names of equipment and it gives a false sense of good performance by the machine even if it really is it is high performance quality. So I honestly rely on people people like you to present an accurate home use of these items. This applies to even kitchen appliances and tools and everything else

@@small-timegarden Thanks for the kind words. I'll be sure to post a video in the spring. Might put one up this fall as the garden only gets hand weeded throughout the growing season. That reminds me.... the extra fine soil that this tiller can make is really good. One downside is, if you don't keep after it, it will pack tight like concrete. Especially in the sandy clay loam we have. That & the heavy tiller sinks like a rock in loose soil. There is an attachment that mounts to the depth gauge to help it float & you can run dual wheels if you have the row spacing. Regards!

I have a 735 that has a 5th gear and if I used that, I'd be running to keep up. It works well for transport speed with my trailer attached.

2nd gear doesn't speed the tines up , so it really isn't tilling properly any more . also simplicity and allis chalmers made better tillers .... the problem is they no longer make them .

I use 2nd gear for cultivating ground that has already been broken in the spring. Good for knocking the weeds down & the higher ground speed keeps it from sinking like a rock. That's one of the few downsides of the tiller. It gets the ground so fine it just sinks. Never did get the dual wheel setup & weights for it. Will have to do that soon. As for it being better or worse than an AC or Simplicity tiller.... I haven't a horse in that race. Always up to a tilling match, though.

@@ikonseesmrno7300 I have a Simplicity/AC tiller behind an AC garden tractor. If the guy is talking that type of tiller, the BCS beats it seven ways from Sunday. Simplicity may have made a walk behind tiller that is as good as the BCS, but I've never seen one. BCS is as close as you can come to a replacement for a Gravely.
@ikonseesmrno7300

@@Bret4207 I figured the BCS is the better machine. Didn't want to make assumptions not knowing the abilities of an AC tiller. Watched some videos & it doesn't look like the tines on an AC/Simplicity machine are any faster than the old Troy Bilt.
