hey Brad, this looks like fun. I ordered a tiny pressure cooker and when it comes I will make a little candle stove to use it with the pressure cooker and see what happens. I will link to your video . I was surprised it boiled with so few candles. I may also use a thrift store mini crockpot and remove the center of the bottom and place it over the candles.Years ago, back I the seventies, I used to read the mother earth news a lot. there was an article in one issue about a guy who lived on very little money. he lived off the grid and raised pigeons for sale as squab on the side and cooked some of them with vegetables in a homemade crock pot he powered with a small kerosene lantern. he would put it on and go to work and when he came home he would have a stew ready. His food cost was very low. I was thinking, the only down side to your candle cooking is people will not be able to attend church anymore without thinking of beef stew. LOL

as impressed as I was by my improvised candle oven and stove yours blows my mind. my favorite part has to be the candle tray. It may not be the most efficient way to cook but it gets the job done. The way that stew got to a boil with 9 candles indicates a need for a frying pan and some spam test I would think

that will be interesting. Good idea to have multiple pots/pans that work for you stand. I picked up a pot with metal stand that comes with these little fuel tablets which I don't know what they are made of. Came with spoon/knife/fork set and all fits in the pot. I got it on clearance at Rite Aid. You have made me want to see if it will boil 2 cups of water with this pot and its tablets. And then I was thinking of trying to just burn sticks under it because I wouldn't have those fuel tablets for very long.
@bctruck8 жыл бұрын
+michellesfrugallivin there is a comment above left by Bamaquer. He left a link the little woodgas stove for 21 bucks at Amazon. Hell of a deal if your looking for an emergency stove.
@weatherstorms6 жыл бұрын
I love your candle stove! You can also put candles into your wood gasifier. It would mimic a great wind screen as well. :) Using ethanol also works with a soup can in the gasifier. Denatured alcohol, or yellow bottle heet too. Avoid 91% alcohol. It burns uncleanly plus it soots up pots.
