OYYYYYY VEY, can I RELATE!!! I'm not Jewish but I think I was in a former life! Almost 63 year old, childless gay man here in the midwest who, frankly, is quite proud of himself for being able to STILL think sanely and create coherent sentences since 2016. I feel exactly as if there's a 100 lb. concrete slab on my chest whenEVERRRRRRR I listen to/watch the news. To the point I'm gonna' HAVE TO increasing the dose of med mood-inhibiting drug. I heard a fantastic saying "Protect your peace" and it knocked the ball outta' the park for me. If I don't I WILL CRACK UP. Mel, you are a F'ING LIFE LINE and I am one of your BIGGEST FANS & followers and I treasure, beyond description you and all your work, over & over & over. All my all my life trying to deal with myself now is the hardest but most important to heal without anyone else around. Taking care of ourselves is the most important thing to do. I’ve been doing the 10/5 for yesrs and years! I didn’t know it had a name! 😉🥰 i realized in my late 50’s (I’m 61) that it’s my superpower in the lifetime. That I may not change the world in a big way, but I can bring a little joy into people’s daily life one at a time. I show people every day (when I can) that they are seen; the checkout person, a random young person, a person who is disabled, a person that may not look inviting. It brings me joy. And I love seeing the sparkle in their eyes when they feel seen. I also love to give people (strangers!) authentic compliments. E.g. that shirt color looks great on you - it brings out the blue in your eyes, I love how your hat matches your shoes, you have a beautiful smile, etc. People LOVE IT…and the compliment is always sincere. Thank you for being a lighthouse to all that welcome your words of wisdom.
