“But art is not for anything. Art is the ultimate goal. It saves our souls and make is live happily.” Such powelful words!

Thank you Nancy! I am particularly encouraged to note that art is about the same thing in any language. Its about being a happy human. His message is so simple, so true.

Hey Nancy, I have a question...I came across a video of you pouring acrylic paint the other day.....What is the history of that kind of art?like do you know who pioneered it? or when it kind of hit the mainstream?

Hi Marcus, That's an interesting question! Pouring, which is very simply applying paint without a brush and knife, and just pouring it directly out of a mixing container or original paint container, probably started with Jackson Pollock, or at least became known as a contemporary way to apply paint. Helen Frankenthaler, Morris Louis and other abstract expressionist painters in the 50's through 70's were making paintings that utilized the "gesture" or making marks by various means as a focus of the work. Some of these artists were actually the catalyst for developing the first acrylic paint in the 50's - a paint that could be thrown and manipulated more easily, and could be applied to a canvas without destroying the canvas (like oil paint will do). So pouring has been around for awhile. Acrylic mediums have been steadily developing into more and more interesting forms, such as the pouring mediums, and pourable paints (like the fluid acrylics) that are now available. Now there are a multitude of videos on pouring paint, each artist presenting his or her special techniques. Nancy
