My Chinese wife loved to take photos, and also have her photo taken as well. Here in the states, we tease people who like the camera and attention by calling them a Ham. This originated when farmers proudly presented their biggest and best pigs at Fairs, and people called them prize hams. So , forgetting the language barrier, I told my wife's friends that she was such a Ham. They looked at me like I was an evil criminal.

I almost sent my niece to see the doctor because every time we talked, she complained about getting "nosebleeds" 🤣 My wife asked me to get some "cotton buds" at the store and looked at me like I was stupid when I asked her what they were. My brothers-in-laws always look forward to a good "boodle fight" 🤣 I get asked to "Open" and "close" the lights, and "on" and "off" the candle. The list is long and often hilarious once you learn the true meaning of what they are actually saying. 🤣🤣🤣

I was in the Navy 1972 - 1978. I was in Asia during those years. I was never offended by being called Joe. I considered it more of a term of endearment. Sort of like hello buddy or friend. For many it was the only english they knew. We learn how to say greetings in their language like good morning, they learn, Hey Joe. When you acknowledge the person by returning a wave or hello, it makes their day. They got to interact with a celebrity.

Good morning Pea. Still chuckling over the holding the lumber 🪵 while you slumber lol. It’s amazing how same words mean totally different things depending on where you’re from. In the USA for example if you want tea to drink what you get depends on what part of the country you live. In the southern United States when you order tea it is served with sugar unless you specify otherwise. In the northern United States it is served without sugar unless you specify otherwise. Enjoy your week and I will be booking my flight through stewardess Pea to the next video🛫.

Your turns of phrase, innuendos and endless string of metaphorical quips are remarkably impressive. Many thanks for taking the time to produce such little masterworks. Hello Pea, Friendly video. I visited your country a little bit and I was not shocked by local customs. It is true that you are quickly noisy. For sugar, what you say is true, there is a bit everywhere and often too much. But that's not important, because there are many other very positive points. I appreciated the many qualities of the natives. Their smiles, their kindness, their desire to know me, the list could go on and on. Other than that, your beaver story made me laugh. Thank you Ms. Pea, for the continued info concerning Filipinas and the Philippines. I am sorry that I had missed the cut off for getting a reply from you on my comment on your previous Posting dealing with your parents new house. I hope that you will get a chance to go back and read, but I do understand that it can be Hit and Miss. You could never be annoying😘💕 You must be a poet Ms. Pea........... Careful of the older guys (Splinters)😅 Cheers🥰 Semper Fi

I'm currently in the Philippines with my filipina girlfriend and I've been here for over 3 months and I still get called Joe all the time. When I walk around outside I get called Joe almost every minute and it's honestly getting annoying. It seems very rude to me. They only say that because I'm a foreigner. And why do filipinos always have to point out that I'm a foreigner? If they want to get to know me why don't they just say something else like "Hey whats up" or "how are you". And the way the say Joe sounds like they're making fun of me because they're always laughing behind my back when I walk past them. Someone else said "Hey Joe, go back to america" a few days ago. I'm actually german but thats not the point. To me it seems like many filipinos are racist. I should mention that I live in the Province in Mindanao. In Compostela Valley. And I never see any other foreigners here. I also get stared at all the time. Filipinos are good at making people feel uncomfortable. I never expected it would be like this before I came here. I always heard so many good things about the Philippines and especially the people.

Hey Pea, I'm looking on a dating site and I've seen a few woman there describe themselves as "Goal digger " which is REAL close to "GOLD digger". Is this a term they use for Goal focused or not?, cause I doubt any gold digger would be stupid enough to actually say she was, but you'd know, not me. Help me Dr Pea.

@@TheFilipinaPea That's what I thought, but just to be sure, I thought I'd run it by you. DBS must stand for Damn Bull S%#T, no offence DBS, but Pea is the bees knees, or since you are using "Drop Bear " must be from Oz [ such a funny clip ] She's the "Ducks Guts " Pea, it's a complimentary term from the first Mad Max movie, it means #1+, top stuff, etc. I rank your opinion and insight as good as Reekay's and he's as good as it gets princess! Thanks again.

Another excellent video Pea! The ending was hilarious 😂 One more serious concern I have is with your presidential election... the last time I was in the Philippines was during Ferdinand Marcos regime and the transition to Corazon Aquino. Marcos did not leave a good impression on me, and he and his wife left a even worse impression which can be validated through any search on the internet. Now that his son has been elected, I have strong suspicions that I really hope don't come true. The trend of leadership has not always been favorable in the past and changes are justifiably needed, however, I sense the strong chance that things could become even worse than what the Filipinos expect. F.Marcos would give the nation something they really wanted then undermine them with new laws and regulations, including martial law, then convince the people it was for their well-being and happiness it happened. So I cautiously wait before deciding anything. I have a new word for you! It describes a person who has gone beyond being a idiot or being stupid. They can be called Stupidiots!

It's not jus the fact that a Marcos got elected, it's how he conducted his campaign, refusing debates and challenging interviews as well as completely whitewashing the past. To this day, billions from what was stolen remain unrecovered.
