With so many online relationships forming (and dissolving) everyday, there's an epidemic of heartbreak, with many people asking the question "how can I tell if she's real?" While there are no surefire answers, I can definitely suggest some methods to uncover the fakes! Follow these guidelines, and you'll minimize the chances of running into a scammer that will do more than break your heart!

Great one fillipina pea. I will say that my situation is on the rare side of the sending funds. Which after a year proved to be the correct thing for us. I have explained it in one of my older videos. We have an agreement tho that on her end she has to provide recipts for everything that she can. And pictures of what its used for. There are many times when she is concerned for something like a friend or family member that i let her know that she has a big heart but we must fisrt take care of our stuff first. And later once we have better finances we can help out somewhat. Should add that fillipinas are good at finding good deals as well. Long one i know but keep up the great content.

I'll be honest, I talked to about 50 Pinay on the dating site I go too before I ended up settling in the one I choose. The trick is for us to talk to a lot of them and then figure out which one is the right one. I talked to a bunch just like I said, however I didn't lie about it. I told all of them as well I'm not rich. In the end the one I'm going with was ironically one of the first ones I talked too lol. We talked a little then stopped talking for awhile, but eventually I started talking to her again and turns out she was not only one of my top pics, but she actually turned out to be the right one. I told her twice to get a rich man and she still is talking with me almost every night.

So true Pea. The girls I met online, sooner or later, started with the "I need milk for my baby" after you established a good online relationship. First the milk, then some load, then a new phone, then grandma's operation... It never ends. The girls I met in person in the Philippines were genuine, and never asked me for anything. IF YOU ARE ONLINE DATING... NEVER SEND HER MONEY FOR ANYTHING, AND SEE IF SHE DISAPPEARS ON YOU TO THE NEXT GUY. If she is sincere to you, she will wait until you meet, and never ask for anything... That's the girl you want, she is a valuable asset, not an ongoing liability. She has lived without your money until now, and your probably not the only one sending her money as Pea states. Wait till you get there, don't drain your bank for any girl.

That is a very good point I do that with everyone I chat with online if they're not willing to do a video chat then you know it's a scam but then you also have to be careful too because if it's a woman doing a scam on you she would do a video chat with you as it has been done with me with a woman on video chat so you have to look at it from both sides of the situation.

I'm so glad I find my future filipina wife the way I did. This was 20 years ago when online dating was not quite as popular. I would write girls by mail and the ones I wrote didn't seem to be asking for money so much. Something about the process that seemed to flush these kind of girls out better. It was more fun that too. My wife is especially awesome. She never ever asked for money. We've been married 16 years and counting.

Yet another excellent, balanced and non-judgemental video, Pea. I love the lifeguard funny ending too. I met my Filipina online and, she is separated - has an annulment in process - so I'm patient and I believe she is genuinely the lady for me. I didn't go looking for a Filipina. She already has a good life, a nice house and more. While I send flowers occasionally, she doesn't ask anything of me and shares much of her life and extended family with me, calls me at random times - often while folding the mountain of dry laundry. We are connected on a couple of platforms - even Facebook, which she formerly used just for family and friends. I consider myself to be in a committed relationship and I'm prepared to wait until her situation changes. Thanks for all your videos - you are wise beyond your years and your insight into two very different cultures is something you teach many with. I know, lots of people say, 'But mine is different....' . I believe mine is.

Hi Pea! You once again dispense sage advice. I started years ago, in the early 1980's, having Pinay penpals. Most were honest ladies with jobs. A few asked for money. I felt bad for the few who asked because it seemed like they were struggling. I might have sent money too if it wasn't such as hassle back in the day. However, one of my penpals, who was an OFW, told me this: "Finding a good Filipina is easy. First, make sure she has a job. Second, a good one will never ask you for money...ever. If she does, move on. Third, find out about her family. If there all have jobs and are professional, such as teachers, nurse, lawyers, etc, then your chances of a good one is much greater. Finally, a good Filipina will have a demure attitude and dress modestly...always". I think my old penpal is correct and I think it still applies today. Meeting your love interest in person is a must before moving further...her and her family. Wow, you just had a Phoebe Cates moment! You are stunning and full of humor Pea. Thanks.

She did ask for anything but as you said, to me it was money I would not miss if I helped her and her kids out. She is 35 and I am not convinced that she does not have an husband floating around somewhere either. She has caused me to have doubts 3 times with her disappearing acts as well. I have also noticed a particular reaction when I mention your video's and this is not the 1st time I have found truths in them that I needed to know. I think it's wonderful how you promote and defend the virtuous and moral women of the Phillipines and expose the scammers that take advantage of the so many lonely men looking for love. This happens in all race's and all countries, but it's rare to be warned and informed so completely by a woman of her own people. Pea, you are so intelligent and have a sense of how to say things. I have met several Filipinas, both when I was stationed there and here. I see all of these guys with faithful Filipinas- the kind I wanted- faithful, treat each other like royalty and all about family. I know they are out there. I have dated one who just wanted money. She was here actually. After I bought her a car she stopped coming over as much. Then started wanting $200 a week. All of the sweetness and "Mahal Kita" disappeared. She eventually told me that she just said those things and was just that way (sweetness, etc) in order to keep her papers to stay in the states. I have experience both in seeing how Filipinas truly are and also the scammers. I come from a family where your word is your bond and are genuine. That is not the case with a lot of society nowadays. :)

I have lived in the Philippines for over 9 years and dated many Filipina both online and from just meeting in a mall and there are many who are honest, its just that they are not the ones looking for a boyfriend as much as the bad ones, so we come across them a lot more, you really have to live in the Philippines to find a good girl for life but once you do, like I have, they are the most amazing females in the world absolutely incredible and loyal. Learn how to test these Filipinas that you’re interested in. Test their honesty, their integrity, by letting them know your standards and expectations early on, even if said in a joking way. Tell her right off the bat that you don’t loan money out, or give seed money to start a business to a woman you barely know. And never ever show desperation at all. Act like you have options. And for Pete’s sake, go to the gym regularly. Upgrade your casual wardrobe, and always smell nice. Barber shops charge P250 ($5) for a great haircut. And don’t fall for her compliments. If she starts calling you handsome or pogi, that’s a red flag.

The difference is we have been chatting and getting to know each other for over 4 1/2 years. And I did offer to send her a VERY small amount of money for a couple of months so I could share my books and music with her - which she promptly refused. If we could ever meet and it is as good in person as it has been all this time I will definitely want to keep her. There are good Filipinas out there. I know first hand.

Iv spent 20-years in the Philippines and have many filipina GF before, but sometimes the love of a long distance relationship is stronger than if you are together. There's no sex involved no rewards just love trust and understanding with the right person. Also one thing I think really gives it away is if your on her FB for all her family and friends to see. If she is reluctant to put it on her established account, there's very likely a reason.

More awesomeness from the Pea. Totally on point. I did use the "don't waste our time if you plan to ask for money before meeting" introduction when dabbling in online dating a year ago. It largely achieved its aim and saved time but of course I broke my own rules 😁 In the end I met my GF online during lockdown when not exactly looking and hope to meet her in person (again) soon - we have a good story with which we will go public soon-ish ❤

Great video! I mirrored something similar in my video, but geared for the ladies. I told them to focus on their maturity level, and to recognize that the chemistry is always great in the beginning. However after 3 to 6 months, that will wane. Then he realizes that he got stuck into something he doesn't really want. And there goes the heartbreak! 😜. The honest and good ladies get scammed emotionally, as much as the men do financially! 🤔🙄🥺😜🙏🐺

This too! I have this similar experience haha I have never tried online dating but in 2018 someone just appear on my fb and that was the first time I have entertained a foreigner probably because I was kinda stressed out back then with my current course I am attending and I needed something/someone out of the scope aside from sleeping late from studying. We hit it off! |And for 8 months I have been so invested in him until things changes and I started to investigate and found that he's currently dating someone new in his country. Woaah! And considering that I have never been in a relationship before, that was my first high fall ever, it destroyed my sanity that I almost failed in my major subjects LOL I even went dangerous hiking at night in the mountain just to relieve the emotional distress I have been into. I started to question my worth and my confidence just shattered into pieces. I told myself over and over again that I need to earn my title (CPA) one day as a compensation for the heartbreak I have put myself into, hopefully and never to get involved with a foreigner guy ever online! geeeez but as I have cleared my mind, I realized that half of the heartbreak, it was my lack of dating experience that put me into it, not being able to identify red flags sooner.

Once again you hit the nail on the head! Every one of my recent experiences! I am on an online dating site devoted to the Philippines, I won't say which one but they do an annoyingly good job of filtering profile content and photos from our end. Not like a US-based adult dating site at all where it is still the wild west where anything goes. But it can become overwhelming - in 60 days I received over 800 "likes", 80% of whom were eager to meet in person when I went there. Who can deal with that? Be nice, be decent and respectful, and be non-comital. And do follow Pea's advice, make no decisions until you've at least met in person.

You are AWESOME. This video is SPOT ON. If I was KZbin, I would give you an award for AWESOMENESS. I think the major problem with men in general is that we're too quick to jump into a releationship when one presents itself to us (if we find the person really attractive). We want a better life than what we have NO MATTER how good we already have it. So when an ideal 'looking' relationship presents itself, we start DAYDREAMING about the wonderful future we could have with this person. Essentially, we start existing in the present and the future. Scammers are EVERYWHERE in every country online and off line. This is not a Phillipine problem. This is a problem with mankind itself. Those who think they'll never get scammed or cheated on because they're too smart to fall for such a person are only fooling themselves. It's like a person saying they will never get food poisoning because they would never eat anything that was contaminated. They may think their keen sense of smell and taste are so great that they would be able to detect the contamination in anything they ever eat or drink, but in reality, no human has that ability. In the beginning of my online long distance relationship with a Filipino, there were many of the signs you mention letting me know that I was definitely being scammed. Originally, I was only communicating with this guy out of curriosity and a desire to catch him lying and tell him off. As I was playing along with his little fairytale though, the big typhoon hit the Philippines. You might say things turned serious overnight. Not at all based on my feelings of love and romance, but on my desire to help out this person in a real time of need. I sent $1000 U.S. dollars which put a roof back on their house. That was it. Nothing more and soon after, I ended the relationship, because I truly believed this person was a scammer. Long story short though, a few years later, I had second thoughts about my decision to end the fairtale online relationship. I wondered if I'd made a huge mistake. Thinking I did make a mistake, I rekindled the relationship, packed my bags, and headed to the Philippines to see if this fairytale character was for real. He was. But things got worse quickly. He proposed and I left the Philippines engaged. I wasn't worried about the engament, as I knew I could end things at anytime if need be. But at our engagement party, a friend of his asked me if I was going to send him support now that we were engaged. I'd not thought about that before. Thinking that was probably a part of the Philippine culture, I thought, sure, why not, it wouldn't be that much money anyways. And it wasn't. But that was THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I made. My advice to anyone and everyone is DON'T EVER give or send a love interest MONEY of support. While it was a WONDERFUL thing I did to help out after Yolanda, sending ongoing finanical support was a very stupid and irresponsible thing to do. Irresponsible, because I made my fiance depenedent on me. So even if he was a good person with a job before, I now turned him into something really bad. It was my fault and I ended up with exactly what I deserved, a real monster who had crisis after crisis needing more than the basic allowance of support. I vactioned here and my fiance kept me in his grip, lying to me, and telling me everything I wanted to hear. It never felt real. I always had my doubts. Eventually, I realized the only way I was ever going to know if this guy was scamming me or not was to move here. So I did. That was actually the BEST DECISION I ever made in my life. And if you're a beleiver in things happening for a reason, I believe the relationship only happened 'spirtually speaking' to get me to move here. It's the best decision I made and shortly after moving here my life returned to normal. Lucky for me, my fiance had gotten into another relationship here without my knowledge of course and when I moved here, that wreaked havoc on his relationship. He left our apartment five days after I arrived saying he had a family emergency he had to take care of. He also said he was going to be killed if he didn't immediately repay a $1000 loan. I had stepped from fairytale into nightmare. He didn't get anymore money from me. He left, returned, left again a few days later, and again, and I told him to not return. That was the end. Looking back on the whole thing, I would say that it taught me something HUGE when it comes to relationships of ANY KIND. That is to always TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCT. My gut instinct told me right away that he was a scammer. I only stuck around out of curriosity and that was ANOTHER MISTAKE. Have you ever hear CURRIOSITY KILLED THE CAT? Ha Ha. Well, certainly, our curriosity can get us into trouble. So when it comes to relationships, TRUST YOUR GUT whenever it signals to you that something isn't right. It won't be a GIANT SIGN like a HAMMER HITTING YOU OVER THE HEAD but rather a small twitch. Subtle in its arrival, but making you think HUH? THAT'S INTERESTING or THAT SOUNDS FAKE or THAT DOESN'T SEEM NORMAL or THAT CAN'T BE TRUE. Never doubt your gut instinct because it's actually your ANIMAL INSTINCT, meaning that it is something you are born with and it is naturally smarter than the brain, which requires a lot more to make decisions. That's what I have learned and it has been beneficial in all of my relationships moving forward. I love the Philippines. It is my home now. I wouldn't have ever came here had I not been scammed, so I'm actually glad I was (after the fact). People often complain about bad things happening to them, but sometimes things need to happen in order to get us from where we're at to where we're supposed to be. I call them bridges. Sometimes we need bridges and those bridges aren't always going to be good. However, they're necessary.

Eh I disagree. There have been many success stories. You just have to pay attention and look for red flags. There are always going to be people trying to take advantage of others no matter the medium. For those people that aren't moving to the Philippines but would only travel there for 2 weeks at a time, the odds aren't great at just running into someone that would be a spouse.
@briansphilippinedream7078
@briansphilippinedream7078 3 жыл бұрын
@@risingtide2924 I agree with you that there have been some success stories and possibly many. However, as Pea often says in her videos, I’m talking more so on the vast average. I’ve been on the dating sites and been to the Philippines many times. I did finally meet a great Filipina, we’ve actually purchased and remodeled a home there. She was not from a dating site. The average foreigner that’s only there for two weeks... is not looking for a spouse. He is the very one; most of the time, that Filipinas should stay away from!! For the few that have limited time and are actually serious about finding a life partner/spouse... there time “on average “ would be much better spent befriending an expat who lives here already and get introduced to a friend. I’m not saying it can or can’t happen either way... just that the odds are increased by a personal introduction.
