A very uplifting video, thanks. Tammie Norrie is what Shetlanders call the puffin bird. Loved all the boats on this video. Seven years ago I helped build a St Ayles skiff another Iain Oughtred design for Burghead Coastal Rowing Ckub in north east Scotland. The Scottish Coastal Rowing Association has a very good website showing over 100 boats built to this design.

Loved watching this video . Long Winded is lovely and the builder gets my respect. I just finished building a 16 foot skiff, outboard powered. I agree, constructing the hull is the most rewarding aspect , having to conquer varios compound curves. The skiff is easily converted to sail by installing a trunk and center board. You guys sure enjoy all aspects of saiiling. Wonderful Paul in Canada

I’m actually just back from a weekend sailing and camping at Lake Macquarie with 6 others with dinghies of various shapes and sizes. Hello again Paul. Another delicious video from my favorite you tuber. Beautifully edited and sound recording. So good of you to work with other traditional boat sailers, showcasing their crafted vessels . I live in Newcastle, so I know Lake Macqurie well. I used to sail at Lake Maquarie Yacht Club in tbe 70,s then Windsurfing in the 80,s and On my Compass Careel 18 in the 20,s. So I know the Northern end of the Lake quite well. I,am shure you will enjoy the top part of the lake, quite different to the southern end. More built up but quite diverse. Plenty of good launching spots. I look foward to seeing a future video of you in the northern end. Also I really enjoyed the video of your wonderfuly crafted maritime objects and photos / drawings in your Maritime Mancave / Boatshed . I myself have a collection of Model Lighthouses, Ships in Bottles , Working Model Boats that I have made myself , like you have done, and Restored Marine Navigation Lamps, lit up at night. So keep up your wonderful videos and thank you Paul. Ps: Roger Barnes has put out another video, yippy ! and I have just bought his book, The Dingy Cruising Companion. I must say, it is the best ever book I have bought on the subject . I can recomend it to all of your viewers. I easyly bought it on eBay au $ 36 inc post. Ian T.

Beautiful boats! Congratulations! I've build two plywood boats designed by Australian Michael Storer: sailing canoe BETH and Goat Island Skiff which are a bit simpler and easy to build due to flat bottomed sharpie skiffs proveniency - the best for a first time builder and both are brilliant in sailing also!

Lovely video and very inspirational. We're interested in the Tammie Norrie design but maybe the 15ft version. Can we ask, would it be possible for two adults to camp on board a Tammie Norrie, using a boom tent?
@SailingKateLouise Жыл бұрын
Hi, the answer is no it's too narrow! Often people sleep below the thwarts on the floor but you need clearance to sleep on your side and there isn't enough room on the Tammie Norrie. If you want to build I would suggest a Fulmar, Pathfinder(cuddy cabin) of even a Llur. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul

Enjoyed that very much Paul. Nice interviews and lovely boats. I'm hoping to start on my Ilur build soon, began preparing last year, but stuff got in the way with other projects. About the only thing the guys didn't mention is that you need twice as much room as you would think for the build, unless you prefabricate the parts. Then it is just half as much again for storage, lol. I know you have just about the most perfect boat, but do you harbour any dreams of making one yoursef?
