Paul we wish you all the very best with the weather - sometimes we get what we don't want but DO need... I am hoping to recipricate what you and Holly (Kids Afloat) do since my boys are gifting me their old gopros this Christmas so maybe I'll have something for you both to watch in 6 to 8 months. Hoping to find a grove with sailing action, scenery and music that entertains. I'm a new subscriber to Holly's channel - got some catching up to do. Stay well all - Rob

Thank you for posting, this sailing was really enjoyable. Perhaps it was due to your fantastic editing? The cuts of the scenes to the music was a masterpiece and an inspiration. The photo material was also top class, could you please hint us to what kind of camera gear you were using?

Hi thank you, mainly a Panasonic wa x 30 which is about 10 years old(not sure they make them anymore), waterproof,HD, flip out screen which makes it much easier to see when in full sun.The other camera is an Osmo Action. In his book Roger Barnes describes how to use two anchors to moor off shore but at the same time retrieve your boat from the shore when you want to. Probably more suited to tidal waters, but if you were worried about running aground the offshore anchor would allow you to pull yourself out of trouble.
@SailingKateLouise
@SailingKateLouise 2 жыл бұрын
@@andyjarman4958 Yep I had 2 anchors out the front and a stern line to a tree to pull myself back in but the wind direction didn't help. Luckily the predicted change never happened. But I was a little nervous having dragged anchor in a storm before and the boat got washed ashore...slightly terrifying.

Hi Paul, Looks like a great trip. We were down there a few weeks ago ( Parks not long ago re-opened the campgrounds and boat ramps after the floods back in March) Road to Violet Hill was re -graded as it was badly washed out before. You had a better run of winds than we did, had to leave Freshwater late one afternoon when a strong Westerly came in, and anchor near Cuttlers cottage. Then had to run from Shelley back to Violet hill at 9.30 pm after a strong Northerly made things a bit uncomfortable. Still a great trip, and like you, hardly saw another boat, very peaceful !
