Ekklesia. I confirm the explanation as a Greek. A very dear word to me... And i have to say that I first heard the voice and visited a Church as the home of God in August 2022. The Church was dedicated to the Annunciation of Holy Mary and the day was the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. I feel blessed that God saved me from darkness and i want to return the favor to the world...

It has now been a year since my wife passed away. I have not heard her voice nor has she spoken to me for a year. Every time her muted silence sinks derp into my 80 year old heart, I hear Jesus’s voice « Father I commend my spirit to you ». So, I repeat it: « Father, I commend my wife to you. ». Hearing Christ’s surrendering of Himself to the Father enables me to speak out my own surrendering of Monique to our Father. And that, in itself, is a small miracle from God that keeps me opened to Him while remaining unconsolable. Levy Shalom

My brother... Scripture tells us that, although we mourn,we do not mourn as those who have no hope. Scripture also assures us that God will restore what the locust has eaten. Keep surrendering to God, and his perfect will for you. This path will lead you to the immeasurably joyful, and everlasting, reunion with your dear wife.

This homily reminds me of Bishop Barron's oration at the National Eucharistic Congress, in which he said for the lay, obedience means listening to the voice of God. It's a blessing that the Church gives us a healthy obligation to attend Sunday Mass so we can step away from the world and plug into the voice of God.

I absolutely love this story and have never doubted its veracity. It is my favorite, if one can have a favorite miracle, after the Transfiguration. The beauty of Jesus physically engaging with the man is hypnotic, almost as though I were there. I think I'm jealous: I want Jesus to open my ears so that I may truly hear and understand. Bishop Barron, you've brought another miracle to life for us. Thank you is inadequate but must suffice.

Such a wonderful insight, as always! We can’t hear God amidst the din of the world. So we can’t proclaim His Word. Let us pray for ears to hear and words to say and for hearts of mercy and compassion with zeal for our Mission, all of which Jesus modeled for us when He lived among us. He still does and wants to give those gifts to us! ❤

In the sermon this morning the priest said that Jesus was so considerate in leading the deaf from the crowd before healing him because after healing of his deafness it would be both overwhelming and confusing for him to hear the noise for the first time and it would embarassing for him learbing how to speak for the first time. So blessed is this man that the first voice he was able to listen to was Jesus voice.

Beautiful homily. Jesus’ healing mission does have a higher purpose. God intervened through our Blessed Mother to lead me out of darkness to Jesus in the Eucharist and healed my marriage to give us an unexpected newborn 17 years ago. The world is in defiance of God’s natural law on marriage and family and sadly only about 30% of Catholics believe in the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Repent and return to God.

Outstanding sermon. I have said we all say God doesn’t speak to us, but I think we don’t listen. We want a human conversation but often it comes from signs and interactions with other people. The mere “coincidences “ that seem to occur when we are struggling with things. But as Bishop Baron says we have to have our ears, eyes, and senses open and in tune not being blocked by the white noise of the world. That is why prayer, meditation and reflection are so vital to be able to understand. Doors open for us all the time but most of us never see them open and even fewer have the courage to walk through them when we do see them. Thank you Bishop Barron for such a meaningful sermon.

I find that in the Gospels, Jesus heals those who come to him, or are brought to him, with faith believing that he could do what they were asking for. Jesus would then say things like go, your faith has saved you. So, not just a physical healing but a spiritual healing as well. Faith, spiritual healing, and physical healing.

Well said Bishop Barron. My church pastor also added a point to that reading. When Jesus asked the person that he just healed, not to tell anyone. Jesus was also saying to the Jews that they needed to Love Jesus from their hearts, and to have Faith in Jesus that he was their Messiah, not just from miracles they saw, or were told about.

Good morning dear Bishop Barron! Awesome message as always! I thank the Lord for your talents whenever I listen to your voice. Today, I would like to offer some reservation about what you may have implied by Jesus is giving this message of being open « to someone living in Chicago, Paris or New-York. » The people referred to are not the only deaf ones. We are all deaf when we fail to love God and our neighbor for any reason and social injustice, poverty, hatred, and all sorts of discrimination persist especially among those who know Jesus! Let’s not divide the people of the world any further. We are all sinners needing the Grace of God whether we hear the word of God and don’t act on it, or whether we refuse to hear it at all. May God bring us all in His true friendship ! Thank you !God Bless !
