Like Shikamaru in the Hidan & Kakuzu arc or how Jiraiya and Itachi had their own stories and battles without Naruto around. Lee had his spotlight in the chuunin exam and gaara fight and in shippuuden he kinda got benched like most of the konoha 11 to be honest. But it's not like Kishi didn't try. He showed team gai in the kazekage arc and after team 10 spotlight in hidan & kakuzu, he brought back team 8 in the search for itachi arc. Also they got some minor battles in the war arc. It's not that much but I guess it's better then no screentime at all, considering how the story was progesssing in a direction more towards other nations and battles on a powerlevel far beyond chuunin level.

@@jameschristopher2540 it’s never unrealistic all of them could’ve had moments in arcs that showcased growth and potential but the fact that Both Lee and Neji were more popular than Naruto and sasuke during the polls in the early years of the franchise he pushed them back since those two were his money makers and we saw exactly how he treated the both of them Neji was killed off for a poor romance subplot that was never even necessary and Lees title as the worlds greatest taijutsu specialist a feat that might guy said only lee could achieve was something he ever got to be

@@KageyoshiSQD1 they did have their moments in fillers. Best example would be the rematch between the sound four and the boys. I do agree and I wish Boruto did at least give them some love. But you have to understand even the mc's got bad treatment. I mean Sasuke barely got screen time and though it was always fire it was sad to see him nerfed every time. He barely tried against Diedara (nor was aiming to kill) and everyone says it was plot armour. For Bee he never prepared (and payed for it). For Itachi the gap was too big. It's like a rinnegan user facing an ems wielder (selfie stick scenario). He later lost the Orochimaru amp + his curse mark. As for Naruto he only has the same rasengan and shadow clones .... yep. As for Sakura well you know.
