I dont think producers in the west are 100% behind the team dynamic. They probably always look for the solo star from the group and hence there is always Beyonce, Justin, Camilla leaving to start her own career. Jin said it i believe in the drunken show and in the documentary (and im paraphrasing) that for the team to remain a team, each member at some point have to make sacrifices .....and for 10 years, each of them, at some point, made individual sacrifices which they are reaping the benefits now because now, they are at a point that they can do anything they want (chapter 2). Its a selfless act and whether everyone from your team is willing to do that is key. I know they are studying BTS but i dont think they grasp this aspect.

@@JJordan19821 I think the key to their willingness to sacrifice for each other comes from the bond they created when they weren’t getting paid, had poor living conditions, and had little support in the industry. Despite all these factors they became a support for each other bound by their determination to succeed. They learned to depend on each other and value each other. That’s family.

That guy dancing and then talking with Demi Lovato was from the movie Camp Rock 2 (with the Jonas brothers). And yeah actual people who practiced and wanted to be performers since they were young were always VILLANS in these types of movies. Like Ashley Tinsdale character was portrayed as the mean big VILLAN, who has been a theatre student since she has been young and always dreamed of performing.. like that was her only goal/dream in life. But Zac Efron and Vannesa Hudgens characters who didn't care about theatre and only cared about each other and were 'in love' were potrayed as these 'authentic heros' who always got the main parts in theatre even tho they didnt even try and had no plans to work in theatre in the future

4:22 this! It is healthy for both the artist and the audience if the artist has a persona and is open about having a stage persona. You can have a persona that is just part of your personality and that can be the part that you dedicate to your fans. People like to think that they "know" the artist, there is nothing wrong about knowing only one side of them, it's more realistic and it's good if there is a mutual understanding that this is the case. I like that BTS refer to their music activities as "work" , and that they make it very clear that they have a side to them that is just shared with fans, while the rest is private. The persona should not be seen as a ruse to sell the art, but as part of the artistry, I think

It’s truly sad how the industry continues to search for "the next BTS." When Suga said, "There is no 'the next BTS.' Every group, every idol will grow and succeed through their own efforts and hard work. BTS is simply striving to contribute to the industry, just like those who came before them. So, there is no 'the next BTS,'" he spoke the truth. But, as always, BTS and ARMY are criticized for this. People fail to understand the message: authenticity is the key to success. It's unfortunate how blinded some are by their hatred.

I was recently thinking about HYBE/Bighit and how they agreed to renegotiate the members contracts after 5 years… I believe. The original contract was for 7 years. Because the level of success was unprecedented and BTS contribution to the company was very high, they were willing to make concessions and money to keep them. It didn’t sound like it was a painful process either because we didn’t even find out until after it was complete. The company essentially said we will give you what you want and need. Stay with us.

I always admired how whenever the members would release their solo projects, they would be so different from the group's discography and each other's discography (especially the rap line). RPWP is an insane shift from the group and the other rap members music. Layover is an insane shift from, say, Golden and Happy, But somehow, when they come together and make music together, it's cohesive?? It's incredible how they prioritize the group and their individual selves together.

21:14 that’s good point jurn. That’s why I don’t take it as a bad thing with Jin says they’re not friends. They are colleagues and family. they managed to balance that because both means teamwork.
@itsmelody377120 сағат бұрын
But Jin never said that. It was a mistranslation taken and magnified to 100 to manipulate people's perception of their family dynamic. Jin said they're not *only* friends but also colleagues, which plays into the concept portrayed by the video: them being authentically cohesive. They are not just friends, not just colleagues, but both-a team. I always admired how whenever the members would release their solo projects, they would be so different from the group's discography and each other's discography (especially the rap line). RPWP is an insane shift from the group and the other rap members music. Honestly it's not surprising to me that One Direction imploded the way they did. Like if you don't have enough team unity to even agree to cohesive outfits, you were never going to last. That's the absolute bare minimum you can do for the sake of your group. I mean it can be something as simple as a matching theme or colour. If you all agree on a colour scheme, you can still show your individuality in the styling. Instead they wound up with a bunch of folks with next to no fashion sense standing next to each other looking out of place. If you can't get on the same page about something so inconsequential then the big stuff would be hard to agree with. Teamwork is such a crucial thing and the ability to compromise and make allowances and take turns on who gets their idea executed are important muscles to exercise in group settings. If you ignore it altogether and work around it instead of tackling it, that skillset never gets built upon and then yall will be cussin each other out on Twitter years later. These companies need to take a page out of Bang PD's book and encourage the group to openly disagree and fight instead of leaving things to fester. Then ensure the whole group is a part of resolving the issue and have them walk you through the problem and solution after that. That's team building and conflict resolution that any group would benefit from.
@faliciaforwardКүн бұрын
100% agree. I love that quote from BANG PD about teaching BTS not to be afraid of fighting while giving them the tools to resolve issues in a constructive manner. This is so important. I really think that this was a huge part of why BTS is so successful as a team. They really bought into that mentality wholeheartedly and it forged unshakeable bonds because they learned to trust each other even when they disagree or get into arguments and fights.

This military thing is literally jail, i can see your point at this moment. Yesterday the Korean media released the news about how the Korean government scammed Bts 7 billion won (approximately 4,5 million dollars i guess) for the Busan Expo free concert. Actually I just want them to be free from this country atp. How can you scam your biggest id in your country and act so nonchalant about it?
@ruthfischer761519 сағат бұрын
Technically it was HYBE that got scammed - BTS were never going to be paid for the concert and they wanted it that way. But I still don't know why they are/were proud of that fact.

@@Acherossa Not really. Since they were not going to get paid either way. HYBE paid for the concert from their money - even if BTS "helped" earn it. (I'm well aware that most of the money was earned in context of BTS activities/brand/merch)

These people are stupid (the CEOs), is as simple as that, they've been trying to create a group that comes even remotely close to Bangtan for almost six years, and so far they can't barely put a single in the bbs top 100 chart, it's an incompetence that's enough to be sad Just like bora mentioned in the next BTS video, that the avengers of kpop were inflating album sales to get at least one top 1 album on the chart, and so far, that's all the big 3 can do, you look on the charts for the last two years and a lot of kpop albums appearing as well-selling, with NO song from the album on the top music chart, how is this possible? Is an obvious tactic. They still only cling to what the boys have already done, they can't let go of their shadow, even through the most questionable means
