Nice fish. Been finding big schools inshore on the mangroves lately here in SW Florida, mostly small, but you get them on every cast when you find them. Last time I started finding bigger slot fish mixed in. Gotta love October.

I used to be casual when I hooked a stingray, I knew how to avoid the stinger, and I usually unhooked them with my bare hands. Then when I wasn't being as careful as I should have been, one stuck me on the tip of my thumb. The barb went under my fingernail, but pulled out when I jerked back. I WILL NEVER handle them again. The pain was so bad I almost vomited, and I was unable to stand for 5 minutes. A lesson I didn't want to learn like that. BE ADVISED!

I was fishing the Freeport Jetties one evening and we were catching Lady Fish like crazy. I had never seen a Lady Fish before and some Vietnamese guy asked if he could have them. I asked him are they good eating and he said yes, good eating. I told him no, Im keeping them. I took about twenty home, filet them and cooked them. That Vietnamese guy was a lier, they were horrible. We threw them away and went to McDonalds.
