I've gone off-road on that beach 100 times. I don't think I have ever aired down. I've never gotten stuck. I have bounced around pretty good on a few occasions though! I hope you enjoyed yourself! Kure beach is my favorite!!

Over this past weekend i took my taco down to the beach in pretty deep sand. I could hear my skids kissing the sand every once in a while. I was in 4 hi at first and noticed it was spinning way too fast and the torque down low was lacking. So i switched it to 4 lo and set my MTS to mud/sand and threw caution to the wind. The truck is a complete beast in deep sand where other vehicles were gettin stuck. I also didnt air down at all and felt confident anywhere on the beach. Stock tires, stock lift.

I drive my 21 trd offroad on the beach pretty often. I suggest 4 hi, and then pressing and holding the Traction control button until it turns off completely (press and hold for about 5 seconds) this will keep the computer from cutting power when you start spinning tires. I also highly recommend airing down (15-20psi), it will make the ride much smoother, give you fare more traction, keeps the tracks nice for the next guy, and its better to avoid getting stuck and risking the tide coming in.

Beach off-roading is super fun, but definitely air it down. Your Tacoma can take on some really tough conditions and trails even in stock format.

I just bought this car and I’ve never had a 4x4 before. I did it to break out of my comfort zone and take risks and not be afraid. This video helped me so much. Thank you.

Airing down super low (around 10psi) helps a lot in the sand. My 1st time ever on a beach I got stuck because of not airing down, and spinning the tires to fast in the soft stuff. This was at the NJ shore before I had my drivers license and in my parents big old Toyota Sequoia. Best of luck to you with your upcoming procedure, you will get the hang of the off-roading thing the more you get out there.

The old sequoias were the best !! I was told in bold letters “DO NOT SPIN THE TIRES IN SAND” hahah and it was good advice! Thank you !

I found your channel from one of your snow driving vids, which during the winter is one of my favorite things to do and go help people get unstuck haha. I subscribed though because you have a great personality. I actually like seeing a less professional video, just riding along and seeing what you get into is plenty good! I just want to say too that it is awesome that you try new things like this because as long as aren't risking your safety, failure will just make for a better story/video later on, so it's kinda win win either way :0)

thank you!!! TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! I feel like being a total newbie and somewhat clueless about off-roading makes it easier for other people to relate and learn from! hahaha

I love that beach it’s so peaceful and the pancake house down there is absolutely amazing Edit: I keep my tires aired down on my beach trip and air back up when I’m going home so I don’t have to constantly air down and air up over and over

We go to Fort Fischer every once and a while so I'm really glad to know about the beach access there. I'm getting a new Taco in "3-6 months" once allocated so I'm excited to see where we can go at the beach. Where did you get the gate card?

Thats awsome! I think you get the pass at the state park.

Interesting video and I'm glad she made it out and back safely but... If you go out, please air down. I run 25psi front, 20psi rear in my Ram 1500 out here and it makes the going MUCH easier. You can see her Taco struggling when it shouldn't be... Any vehicle, with any size tires can get stuck out here. Not only is it better/easier for your truck, airing down makes the tires softer and lessens the bumps and ruts vehicles make in the sand helping everyone.

Air down or one day you will be sorry lol always in 4 Lo or you will burn your tranny up. I was there last week and saw a jeep get stuck and a new Nissan tear his transmission out.
