I liked how the making of the rig was explained . And how easy it is for me to now get set up quickly for fishing off the beach. Excellent! Thanks for the information.

Just made up this rig and with the sinker running between 2 swivels it worked a treat not tangling up in heavy conditions.also caught a night Australian salmon which put up a decent fight.Thanks 👍

Love your channel. I'm still rather new at thefishing game. Couldn't for the life of me see the fancy knots you so quickly tied. 😁

Thanks for the info. What sort of line class/rod length is a good go to for jewfish?
@wizardnebula85723 жыл бұрын
If you are fishing with braid, 30lb is a good starting point. If you are fishing mono you can get away with 20lb. Any good beach rod will do the trick. It just has to be heavy enough to cast big baits and sinkers

30lb braid? 40lb leader? You chasing salmon? Good luck using that on the monsters over here in south australia hahah let alone when a big ray or shark jumps in
@maddog34673 жыл бұрын
How much drag you think your holding on to through a 12 foot rod🤣🤣🤣
@Snook_3 жыл бұрын
@@maddog3467 its not about constant load, its about shock load. Hook a big shark or stingray in rough surf in SA that is 100 lb's + that braid is going to snap quick smart. Most people over here use 65 to 100lb chasing huge mullies and sharks for this reason and works much better
@maddog34673 жыл бұрын
Sorry I forgot SA is the only state with shark and ray off the beach🤣
@Snook_3 жыл бұрын
@@maddog3467 clearly you have never hooked a 10 foot bronzie or 2 meter black smooth ray casually while fishing for mullies. Happens a lot over here and you are NOT stopping or landing them on 30lb braid. Maybe in a boat. On the beach you always double everything to deal with deterioration etc as well as the surf down here is brutal on your gear
@Snook_3 жыл бұрын
@UCW3-WkH6lEfFQRm8zvwHfqA I use 100lb shock leader and 10/0 circles with mullies to be safe. The surf will bring them down to 60lb strength in a day with nicks on the line and stuff anyway. No fucking around. This isn’t bream fishing and the fish don’t give a fuck about seeing the line etc they are just apex predators

My biggest jew was caught on 10lb leader .. went 45cm 🥳😆

Most people that are here watching this are beginning fishing so just saying do this do that isn’t good enough .. close up of how rig is constructed and finished product. poor video sorry mate
@dogmachine24062 жыл бұрын
This video would be a poor decision for somebody who is beginning to learn how to fish. If you are begining fishing you would be making it more of a challenge targeting jew from the beach. I mean, if i wanted to learn how to fly i would start with something smaller and easier to handle rather than a fighter jet.

It's for people who already know how to tie everything up. I'm just seeing what other people are using out in the surf. For you, firstly I would suggest a "How to tie your own shoe laces". From there, you can move on to something a little more advanced, such as, "How to please your wife, so she won't cheat on you." Sorry, poor comment, mate

Can you make a video to show pls? interested

@@dogmachine2406 Actually, the rig itself is hardly "fighter-jet" material. Rather an obsolete B52 bomber in a world of F-35s. The uni knot to the bottom hook isn't as strong as a snell, the top hook should be an adjustable snell for versatility of using different bait sizes for better presentation, the blue clip sits too proud on the line which still has tendencies to tangle by swallowing the leader within the clip, distance is lost on the cast with the sinker and bait weights fighting each other in the air, and using two swivels creates a higher chance of knot failure and a weakened connection. No disrespect intended against Saxon as he's a fellow avid fisherman who has caught some brilliant fish, but so have I, but I prefer to maximise performance and minimise risk.
