This is so beautiful. So many people are scarred by their own unbringing, and then they aren't good parents themselves because of their own pain- it's amazing to see someone really step up like that.

Touching portrait. It would be great if you created such videos more often. This was very well done and has that certain NPR essence.

sadly only saw Beach Slang twice during sxsw (they had about 8 or 9 shows in 4 days). but James was the sweetest, most energetic front man I've seen in such a very long time it was a beauty to witness in real life

James' band Weston is from the Lehigh Valley where I grew up. I grew up on his music and seeing him play practically every week. He is probably one of the main reasons that I play guitar and write songs today. I don't know if he will ever realize how influential he is.

Weston was great, but not because of this guy.

Isn't it strange and wonderful what babies can do.

+LynnColorado Right? They can get scabs to cross picket lines. Force people to accept underpaid positions out of desperation. Turn former allies away from a Greater Cause as they decide instead to concentrate on their own tiny fragment of Society. Almost every loss of dignity the American worker has faced in the last 50 years has come about as the result of parents selling out their co-workers to protect the means to care for their brood. They might be necessary for Society to carry on but there is no demographic that does more damage to the cause of human dignity than babies and the parents who have them.

Children are wonderful. They make us laugh, fill us with the possibilities of life. And, in really tough times they can feed us for a couple of weeks.

What a waste of talent, that could be better expressed if it were geared toward something spiritual. AKC
