I’m pretty sure that direct sales / mlm women choose not to work with men because they don’t want to make men think they’re being flirty with them. Exactly this. I was in Amway for 2.5 years and I stayed in way too long because anyone who was Christian they would constantly talk about how God called us to be in the business, that it was his plan for our lives and that anyone who left lost their dream and were going against God's plan for their life. Meanwhile, they always want you to have an agenda when you meet new people (recruitment), "fake it till you make it", copy and paste messages that come across as genuine surface level, but 100s of others have received the same thing. "Tell people you see them as a really ambitious person, people love getting those kinds of compliments" "Say you'll see if there's an open seat for them at the info session to create the feeling of exclusivity" I was so brainwashed and so naive and young that I was too afraid to speak up about any of it, any time I did was made to feel like I was ignorant and had no idea what I was talking about. Yeah, I'm sure God is really pleased with how fake and scammy you all are.

I had a "friend" who does BB, I signed up up for a challenge pack for the year and she had me "hop on" an opportunity call, it was "you could be great helping people". I never bought in to it but watching this makes me realize how fake the relationship was. She used being a leader in our church small group to latch on to women. She wasn't happy when I told her my doctor said the shakes have too much sugar lol. The love bombing in our private Facebook group was uncomfortable at times and the"toxic positivity" down right pissed me off when I was having real life big issues that nobody, in what was supposed to be a safe community, wanted to hear about. And then she brought this senior BB coach (that was male) in the group that required everyone post progress pics in sports bras! Ewwwww, I ended up using the workouts until it expired but left the Facebook groups because they made me uncomfortable.

14:45 DO NOT send someone, ANYONE, a workout or meal plan if you are not a trained PROFESSIONAL. ESPECIALLY if they didn’t ask for it (that should be common sense). You don’t know their fitness level, medical history, dietary concerns, dietary history. God forbid someone follows the workout plan and has a heart attack or pulls something, or if someone suffered from an eating disorder and your random meal plan message triggered them/caused a relapse. I spent 4 years of my life studying Exercise Science. Professional trainers take certification courses and then have to pass exams to prove their knowledge. That $200 hunbot kit does NOT give you the right or knowledge to advise anyone on their health & fitness journey. I wish I were on this call I’d give that woman a piece of my mind.

THANKS GOD. I want to get a meal plan, but I'll go to a dietetician or a doctor who specializes in nutrition. You need to know: - The size and the weight of the person _ What her objectives are and if they are healthy _ Their eventual allergies _ Their health issues and the treatments they might take, or the diet restrictions they might have And a true professional follows you through your journey and makes sure your health is fine and if adjustments are necessary. Plus, it's way more affordable: you buy real food and you learn how to cook healthy meals. You have a worksheet to follow for basically a long time and you're educated on what food to eat in small quantities, what foods to favor if you want to remain healthy... For God's sake, you can kill someone if you don't know what you're talking about in nutrition!

@@rickhamilton620 Well! Vague to say the least. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice, it seemed legitimate. I just think they’re riding the line of scam/not scam. He mentioned the word “coach” in reference to helping new businesses and kinda put me off. My job duties would be basically customer support for the main woman’s ‘seller’. He emphasized that they don’t cold message/call and aren’t sales people… said I’d be paid 15/hr during training and then 20/hr once I’m trained. Part of me wants to do it because good money and it’s remote- the other part is still getting those ~maybe scam~ spidey senses. I guess we’ll just see if they follow up with me! It definitely was not directly an MLM, or they’d have “hired” me on the spot, so that’s a good sign!

What I find so fascinating and gross about MLMs is the way they target the most vulnerable. I’m a software engineer, so when recruiters hit me up on LinkedIn to recruit me, the salary and benefits are important but what’s most important to me and most people, is job satisfaction, whether it’s working on building a cool new piece of software or feeling like I’m helping people with whatever we’re building. With MLMs, there is no real job satisfaction lol the only pitch to potential MLMers is that they can escape their current situation, which should really be illegal in the same way researchers at universities have rules that dictate what type of participants they can recruit. Nobody that is comfortable and financially stable falls for an MLM. That should be enough evidence for pro-MLM folks

I feel like if everyone that joins these mlm's spent the same amount of money on an actual nutritionist, personal trainer, and meal prep classes, and possibly some blood tests to rule out conditions they have, our good health percentage as a nation would go up a ton. It's a lot of money to pour into "health" products that aren't individualized to your body.

Are they using the term "ghosting" correctly? I always thought that ghosting was when you were in some kind of friendship/relationship and then suddenly stopped acknowledging their existence. Not accusing complete strangers of ghosting you because they didn't respond to your random message. BTW-my take on why she targeted women is because women are programmed to be more open and "nice" and less likely than a man to ignore random messages from complete strangers.

I think you are right. It’s like they feel people are obligated to respond. I don’t think anyone is ever obligated to respond to a stranger unless they’re some kind of emergency worker. I believe it is socially acceptable to ignore emails, dms, texts, literally any message from a stranger for any reason. It doesn’t have to be a ‘good’ reason. It could be because you don’t feel like it. These people seem to think it’s odd that people aren’t responding to them/engaging with their content.

I never understand how these people who are being trained to prey on strangers on the internet, how to find them, fake compliments/create fake connections in order to rope them into this .. and not realize that its exactly what was done to them. If I didn't know about MLM's and was there thinking it was because I'd formed a genuine friendship and my friend wanted to share something with me, and found out this is what my "friend" was taught in order to manipulate me, I'd be so upset.

Anecdotally I've heard of some former huns putting two and two together once they realized, "Hey, this is what was done to me and it's hella manipulative." But yeah, many don't seem to make that connection. Must have something to do with the information- and thought-controlling (i.e. culty) techniques that MLMs use. People seem to be trained not to think critically or listen to that inner voice that says "This doesn't seem right."

Hey Hannah! I haven't commented on your videos before, but I've watched a ton! This one honestly just made me feel so sad for these "coaches", and I was kind of shocked at the tactics. The fakeness and insincerity is just harmful for everyone. Not only do these actions hurt the recipient's feelings, but the coach loses their credibility and trustworthiness. It wouldn't be surprising if people don't want to be their friend anymore, even after they leave the business. Like you often say, these women aren't bad people, just sucked into an industry that brainwashes them into thinking these actions are okay and what they need to do to succeed. It ruins lives and I think your videos are a great way to show just how harmful MLMs are.
