@blackyandmax Thank you! I like to use a nylon beading thread such as KO or Nymo for bead embroidery. A size 12 beading needle will allow you to easily make multiple passes through your work.

What type of material is the white cloth (I think its cloth?) you are sewing the beads onto? I am looking for a way to sew seed beads around a gemstone, but also next to it, for a wide bracelet. I really like the way you explain it in this video.

I can bead around a cabochon but what do I do when the bracelet backing bends around my wrist and shows the under side of the cabochon? When I bead it, it distorts the bracelet even with 15/0 beads.

It might mean that your first row around your cabochon was not made close enough to the edge. When it curves, it should bend down and then the bezel row of 15/0 should help it even further to cup the cabochon. It may be as simple as adding or subtracting one bead on that first row to hug it tighter. Also make sure you glue goes right to the edge of the cab.

Wal-Mart may have a few of these things and we always recommend you check to see if you have any independent bead stores near you. Trying typing "bead store" into googlemaps and see what comes up for instance. A lot of us learned to craft in our local bead stores and we still think they're great community resources. If you can't find exactly what you need locally our store does accept payment through PayPal.com, which is free to use and doesn't require a credit card, just a bank account.

+Beadaholique I have tried that and sometimes i just will not work. Temp a problem? We keep the house cold in winter 55-60 or so. I love the cold.

+RubyStandingDEER According to the manufacturer it should cure in temperatures as low as 50º F, but lower temperatures could be effecting the time it takes the curing to finish. They recommend waiting 24 to 72 hours for a complete cure in a 70º environment. We've found that to be a conservative estimate, usually our pieces are quite secure after 24 hours, but working with it in lower temperatures might require more time. I'm honestly not sure which of the other glues we're used to working with here in our design space might fare better in cold weather. You could try a two part epoxy if you want to experiment with something that reaches a full cure faster (16 hours in 72º for the DevCon epoxy we carry) . It's more of a hassle to apply, but it's remarkably strong stuff.

I keep my home super cold in the winter too! I too love the cold. I use e6000 in 58-60 degrees in my home and it always is fine. I do live in a dry climate (Utah) and my furnace does not add humidity to the air (some do) and perhaps that may be better for the glue. I always apply the glue to the cabochon and attach it to a porous surface (fabric, lacy stiff stuff, Pellon interfacing, etc.) and perhaps because it is porous, it allows it to dry more easily too. If you are attaching it to something that is not porous, then it may take quite a bit longer. hope this helps.

The second start starts in between the cabochon and the first row of seed beads from the back side.

Might be better to use a lighter color cabochon and lighter color beads which would show up. Using dark anything on a video tutorial is a mistake.

try adjusting the brightness (and/or contrast) setting on your computer. I saw it just fine but if your monitor is dark it would be difficult to impossible to see. You can lighten it for this video (and any others you have difficulty in viewing) and the put it back if you feel it is too light for other things you do.

I had an old tube type monitor that I FINALLY replaced with a flat screen because it continued to get darker and darker (sign it was about to die). I have had SO much better luck with flat screens and the one I have is bigger, clearer, brighter, and about 1/2 the price I paid for the tube type screen. They continually go on sale for less and less. If brightening doesn't work, it may be time for a new screen (sorry)

You are one of the best most articulate instructors I've ever heard, but most of your tutorials (at least the ones I've watched) you use dark thread, beads, and in this case a dark cab too. I cannot see what you're doing so the tutorial for me is basically useless. I don't care if the colors you use go together or match I'd just like to see what's going on. sorry but I gave this a thumbs down.
