How long did it take for Benji to react to steroids and learn to walk again? And how much prednisone did he start on?

Most dogs respond pretty quickly - within a week or so. Doesn't have to be normal in a week, just improving. Typically immunosuppressive doses that are tapered over time.

My puppy got diagnosed with autoimmune meningitis in August, 2022 when is was 6 months. She lost her sight and her ability to walk. It is now October and she got her sight back but her ability to walk is still not great. We are still hopeful as she is eating and drinking well and can be her little sassy self at times and can move my crawling. Hoping that she will regain her strength, balance, and ability to fully register her feet.

Hi. Benji did very very well for several months but after the owner stopped medications symptoms started to return (but not as severe). We put him back on medications and he is doing well.

Follow the recommendations of your neurologist. But yes, dogs with meningitis can do very well.

My Frenchie just got diagnosed with this . It’s heartbreaking hear them cry like this. So far steroids are helping 🙏

@@aanadyia4582 it’s very tuff to hear your dog cry. My dog ended up making a fell recovery and she recently is completely off the steroid medication. Best of luck
