Hi Colette and Patsy, I had two rescue dogs, Parson Jack Russells, the only difference is a parsons has longer legs, but I was never able to let them off their leads which was a particular sadness for me. Even though we put a lot of effort into training, their instincts, especially with Daisy, who would chase cats, rabbits, anything that moved really, were too strong to ignore and we lost them both on a number of occasions. I wish you lots of luck with Patsys training and really hope that you will be able to let her run free eventually. She is a lovely little girl and is obviously very happy with you and her lovely home at Bealtaine Cottage. Bright blessings to you both. Debs x

Hi Deb, we have 3 parson Jack's- my female is a rescue. She was a breeders dog and not used to having the ability to roam. After 3 years, she is still very timid. We have to use a electronic pet safe system to keep them on the property. My female will not leave unless the boys do or I do. Never without a lead when out of their area. They were bred for hunting, and that instinct is strong, lol

Well following your lead I've finally left London after 20 years and have moved back to the welsh mountains of the Rhondda Valleys in a little miners cottage and loving it. Hopefully I will get an allotment soon but I have a little back garden which can have a few flowers. All the best for 2024.

What a grand idea , pick 3 things a month to give focus to !!! I think I will give that a try myself ! Pasty is a little sweety 💙 Speaking of Jack , I had a dream a couple of weeks ago , that he was in ... In short , he came out of my woods ( Iowa/USA 😂) but i just knew it was him and the dream was all about trying to let you know he was here and had not passed ! And my husband made him gravy and toast 😂 such an odd thing to dream ! Blessings to you and Patsy 💙

Morning Colette. I have two Jack Russell's. My newest rescue is a seven year old, who does the whole 'bolting' thing. When he gets outside and something moves or flutters he turns into a completely different dog., stubborn, fixated and totally obsessed. Indoors he's loving and likes nothing better that a cuddle. Talk about Jeckell and Hyde!

Love your 3 things a month to accomplish, wonderful idea. My son in law taught their jack russell to ring bells they had hanging on the door knob when he needed to go out. Their yard was fenced...Holling, he was a sweet boy, just passed before Christmas, 17 yrs old. If a bird flew by the living room window, he ran down the hall to the look out the bedroom.

Hello Collette. Greetings & best wishes to you from County Clare. I enjoy your videos very much & your lovely gentle voice. Regarding Patsy - I think it may help when she goes to run towards the sheep that you give her a correction by giving a quick sharp tug on the lead & make a sound - something like "ah ah" (like we do with babies when protecting them from something) or make a 'tsk' sound. The dog trainers do this. Dogs need a correction when doing something they shouldn't - just like children. 👍

Hi Patsy! I am a chef. I went to culinary school and have cooked professionally since 1986. I have found that I can do a light KETO style baking using almond flour and other gluten free flours and sugar substitutes that have really helped me lose weight over the past 4 years. There are tons of recipes online for free. I started this lifestyle during the pandemic. I started out using Carb Manager. A free ap that helps you get to know what your caloric intake is. It's very helpful to let you see how the foods we are eating add up to really large number of calories and keep us from losing weight and getting healthy. Lots of things have sugar in them that people are not even aware of. increasing your water intake really helps too and helps melt the fat off our bodies. I love to bake too, but going this route has really helped me lose over 30 lbs. Best of luck to you in your journey. I am so enjoying your videos and your lifestyle.

Thankyou Colette, three things is such a good idea. I cook a lot from scratch, but still eat far too much (good cheese and good bread are my weaknesses). I definitely need to move more, stretch more and do some strength lifting. My final one would be something to encourage positivity. When the world is going to hell in a hand basket, it’s easy to give in to the negative bias. But Patsy always makes me smile.

I am an older lady starting this project. How did you plan out in the early years your woodland? Did you have long term visions, take sections of land and work then go to another section, plant certain things first?? Any advice would be appreciated.😊
