I once worked at a restaurant that was robbed before we opened for the day. I wasn't aware of what was happening and was preoccupied with cleaning the glass doors for opening. When the guy ran out of the restaurant he pushed the glass part instead of the handle. He left a perfect hand print in the freshly cleaned window that gave the police viable finger prints. Also a few hours later the man's mom called the police and turned her son in.

My friend works at a local Goodwill. One day, a guy broke into the store at night and stole some pants and some shirts. The camera got the guy on tape. The kicker? I have a story. I'm from a rural part of Durban, crime is a kinda a lifestyle here so we tend to see more crime than hear of them. One of my neighbors was a dirty crook, stealing from anyone and everyone including us, decided to steal a purse from a lady hitchhiker. He succeeded but to our shock, his getaway was a terrible plan because as soon he snitched the purse... he immediately forgot road safety and was hit by an oncoming truck. The village that we are from predicted that he will die in a dumb way but we never expected that to come true.

This happened to me.. Kinda crazy. So my family was out aside from me, but I always have the lights out so it looked like no one was here. A guy must have picked the front door or something because I could hear someone walking around the house. The problem is that our house creaks.. a lot. So I walk downstairs and point my empty BB Gun at him. He drops everything he has and yells "Don't shoot!". Under normal circumstances this gun wouldn't be a threat, but I painted it to look real. So the guy I suppose has every reason to be scared. I call the police and they took him away. But on his way out I pulled the trigger and he jumped. So that was fun.

I have a story to hopefully be noticed. I heard this story from my dad: Over 28 years ago or so, athlete country-track runners robbed a gas station, they grabbed presumably money when the cashier was giving change, and they ran away. ( 1:01 ) Like the first case of the video, one of the robbers had their name AND school on the back of their school jersey. The other one ran through a field covered in 8 inches of snow to their house. Police officers just had to follow the footprints to their house, and go to the school that was listed on the school jersey on the CCTV footage. The two boys were called to the principal’s office, and then were arrested for robbery, and it was around less than $500.00 of cash, meaning it was a simple misdemeanor. They were let go, but on probation. We’ve never seen them since, however we presume they’re not very fast runners anymore. 😂 TL;DR: Two track-runners stole money from a gas station, had snowy footprints leading to one of the robber’s house and had a school-jersey on them from CCTV, got arrested at the school and got probation.

This reminds me of a hilarious robbery attempt I saw. Around the apartment near the mall I usually went to, there's a broke down wall due to a mismanagement of construction's location site. They fix it by filling it with quick dry cement. At the time most of the wall was fixed, 2 robbers were chased from the mall after robbing a nearby electronic store. But as police already surrounded the perimeter, they can only gamble their freedom by dashing their way against the newly fixed wall. But it's the start of the show. After they crashed the newly created wall, they ran away out of people's sight. But not long after that, police found them rocked due to the quick dry cement used to fix the wall from before, when they were about to open the car they would use to escape. That was quite a laugh for the people around for quite sometime, though luckily not many people could witnessed it as it's already late night back there.

This one happened to my cousin. So they got out this old skateboard one day that they hadn't played with for years. A few weeks later a lady robbed a grocery store near my cousins house and then decided to rob some of the houses in the neighborhood. My cousins house was the first one she attempted to rob. While digging through the garage the lady kicked the skateboard (which hadn't been put up correctly by the way) and it started rolling down the driveway. My cousin then saw the skateboard rolling away and told their parents. The lady didn't end up leaving the property before the cops showed up.

One time back in second grade, I left my pencil sharpener on the desk to use the bathroom. When I came back, it was no longer on my desk. I looked around the room, and noticed that my bully had the pencil sharpener in her hand and was telling people (including me when I mentioned minr was missing) that her pencil sharpner was new. One of her friends had also pointed out that she had grabbed it off of my desk. So, when she went to the bathroom and left the pencil sharpener on the desk, I grabbed it and put it in my bag. When she returned she noticed the pencil sharpener was missing, and told the teacher that both of our pencil sharpener's were missing. The class had to search their bags (expect us.) So, in the end, I went home with my own pencil sharpener, while the girl went home with nothing.

Some years ago, my parents had an encounter with a dumb criminal. An employee attempted an armed robbery while my dad was counting cash for the bank deposit. The employee said they had to leave work early then came back a little later. They had enough sense to cover their face, but didn't change out of the clothes they'd worn to work, so they knew right away who it was. Luckily another customer came in who was carrying a gun, so the guy ran off, but was caught not long after, just down the road.

When I was in Federal Law Enforcement we would encounter subjects in tunnels. It was very unsafe to try and go in by yourself and apprehend the subjects because you were usually alone. Bro the same thing happened with someone ( who I don't know ) my friend helped his. In his case it was a Car. I heard this from a friend who said that when a man parked his car and went out to buy some stuff from the store two men came and started to wash the victim's car. Though it was peculiar my friend just went into the store. When he got out of the store he saw the person's car was missing and that person was still in the store. It turns out the thieves washing the car were looking for the perfect time to steal the car. My friend quickly informed the owner. It turns out the owner had put a tracking chip on his car which the thieves didn't see. Police were called and thieves were caught. The thieves did wash the car properly after they had escaped and it looked pretty new. So the person got a free car wash.

Edit: Grammatical Error Stealing meat was not uncommon at the store I used to work at. There's been a few times I found empty meat trays on a soda shelf, sometimes hidden on the lowest shelf and pushed to the back. I hope they brought ziplocs or something, 'cause that's not going to be fun cleaning out of a bag or clothes. Meats that were most commonly stolen were, of course, steaks and fillet mignon. This was even before covid. We just have very cheap people where I live. Southern Cali.

When I was living in Colorado, I heard a story from a guy whose job it was to meet with people accused of crimes and get their side of the story from them. At one point, this guy walks into work, and his coworkers are snickering uncontrollably. When he asked them what was going on, they just said it was nothing and offered him his one job for the day. When he read the description of the report, this is what it said: "Man Assaults Wife with a Sandwich." Oh boy. So he goes up to Scotts' Bluff, Nebraska to get the story from the perp, and literally the first thing the perp says to him was "It was a BLT." Easiest job of his career!

This happened back in the 90s when I was in primary school and my older brother was in high school. My brothers friend had mental issues and tried to break into our house and somehow managed to fall through the roof into the living room. Unfortunately for him, our door from the living room to the rest of the house was always kept locked. So he proceeds to climb back into the roof and once again fell through into the kitchen and rest of the house (might I add, smashing my lego castle in the process of falling). This guy then has a shower puts on my underwear and proceeds to cook, eat and drink pretty much everything in the house, leaving a mess everywhere. He cooked and pretty much ate everything! Including like 15yr old cheap wine scraps. So his genius plan is foiled when he rings my brothers Nokia 3315 mobile from the house phone, my brother asks why he's there not at school and he claims our mum let him in. My brother calls mum and schoold finishing, so mum calls police as were picked up from the school. We get there with the police and are welcomed to a complete mess. Holes in the roof, lego everywhere, clothes everywhere, rubbish everywhere, pots, pans and dishes everywhere and this guy sleeping in a pile of chocolate rappers in my younger brothers bed in my underwear. Obviously he was taken into psychiatric care after that
