As someone who has worked with disabled and elderly, the comfort wipe is actually useful for amputees, elderly people who have reaching issues, and people with injuries preventing them from being able to move as well. It can help maintain some of the ever important independence for someone who is losing their independence.

Came to the comments just to say this. So thank you so much for speaking up. Thank you for being a carer, you are often our best hope of being heard and helping humanizing disability. I know we can be a lot to handle, not just physically but emotionally, it can be difficult to be stuck in your body and unable to participate in normal life and often we accidentally strike out at our caretakers because we feel like a burden and are jealous that we can't do for ourselves. So May the force be with you and the odds be ever in your favor. Seriously though. I've known many people with arthritis so badly that they can't hold toilet paper or silverware properly, as in unable to open and close their hands properly. I'm 31 and have pretty progressive RA, along with many other health issues but that's the only one anyone needs to know atm, and devices for the disabled are just part of it, that's my future. Anything to get that extra edge to be closer to what you were, should be, want to be, or even just to function at a minimum. Most of my friends and family are "SPOONIES", partially because most of my issues are hereditary so of course my family has issues and it's easier to talk to friends who can understand the doctors, tests, and feeling of loss of self. So many people I know just can't get grip strength for a thinner item like paper or a knife handle. I've watched a friend use the butter one by holding it between her arms and pushing against it together with her wrist area. It's not that she couldn't get butter eventually but she shakes so bad and experiences so much pain, it's just easier for her. I think these stupid invention lists need to take into consideration that an invention for the disabled is there because the biggest thing disability can take from you is your ability to do normal daily tasks. So an invention that helps someone get that back isn't actually meant for those who can still do that task fine. It's meant to fill a void that we have in our lives because we were born with crap genetics or had an accident, and now we are unable to keep up with ourselves... let alone the rest of the world. Disability is rising because we can save those that would have been unsaveable before. Those with hereditary illnesses that would've died in a time before modern medicine are not only staying alive but having children. Children who then get born with those hereditary issues that meets someone with minor hereditary issues and together they have a child even more vulnerable to hereditary issues, like x-men mutations but anti-superpower version. This continues for generations so on and so on. You can also save people from many different accidents that would have killed someone before, but now that person may be alive but they've got acute trauma. Don't get me wrong that's better than the alternative because when your disabilities are hereditary often people judge you more because you're not externally disfigured and they can't comprehend that the body is complex and can be broken on the inside, because "but you don't look sick". We are at a point in medicine where we can stop someone from dying but often can not give them quality of life. That's what those inventions can help with. So thank you again for helping to try to defend our right to try to find quality of life in the ways we can. Note if you or those you care for/have cared for find yourself needing extra advice or emotional support during this time one of my favorite websites is butyoudontlooksick.com and they have some beautiful thoughts and support groups for carers and spoonies alike, along with lists of resources for more advice or even an advocate. They primarily are geared for us with invisible illnesses but have links and support for all types. If you're unsure about what "Spoonies" are the same girl that made that website found a beautiful way to discuss invisible chronic illness to a friend called "The Spoon Theory" and then posted it, if I recall properly she was discussing dealing with the daily of living with Lupis (it's been a while since I read it sorry). It is one of the best illustrations of the daily difficulties, making the spoon theory a must read for all carers and differently abled people. I hope you and yours stay safe during these troubling times.

It is impractical to travel with a hood hair dryer in a hard case and that hood accessory works almost as well, especially if one is using rollers. I remember the butter slicing device being on sale at various outlets and thinkin, "What a ridiculous product". I suppose it could perhaps have some use for the kitchen staff in a restaurant to speed up operations. Actually the "Comfort Wipe" product is a good idea even though it needs some refinement, because people with back damage cannot bend normally and therefor cannot clean themselves as easily as someone who doesn't. The hair dryer bonnet hood idea has been around for decades, I can remember my mom in the '50s using such s a device. It was supposed to be an "at home" equivalent of the salon type hair drier. What's more it worked. "Camel Balls"...where can I find some (apart from under a camel)?
