When I was a young child, 8-9 years old, I lived on a farm in Pennsylvania. I was walking on the path beside the garage one winter day during deer hunting season, slipped on the ice, and just as I fell, a bullet ricocheted off the cement block at the level where my head had been moments before, making a divot in the block.

Mine wasn’t quite as heart stopping. We bought a moveable changing table with storage shelves for our first baby. I laid him down to change him. He was wiggling. Next thing I know, the table is collapsing, he’s falling head first. I jumped and was able to grab him by one ankle, right before his head would have gone between two rails. It would have snapped his neck. We were both screaming. He didn’t have a scratch on him. Can’t say the same for the changing table. I made it into kindling and tossed it into the dumpster. From then on my babies’s changing areas were the top of a big, not going anywhere, dresser. Found out a couple years later, that the changing table had been recalled do to babies’s injuries, and two deaths.

14 years ago, I was volunteering at an archaeological dig site, in Israel. We had just opened up a new patch of dirt and some one give me a pickaxe to loosen up the Earth. A few minutes into hacking the Earth, i mildly missed a shiny object that came out of the ground. Excited I picked it up and brushed it off. My excitement turn to a slight feeling of terror as I noticed what I was holding , an active bombshell in my hand. Careful!!! not to drop my new treasure I walked over to the executive overseer of my area and carefully!!! handed him my gift. Later I learned the shell went from hand to hand from one archaeologist to another (One of them even dropped it) until it finally ended up in the hands of the police. Using one of our only good buckets with a handle, it was blown up in an amazing show of smoke and fire. The head of the dig promise me a souvenir from my exploding treasure and never came through on his promise 😑😭.

05:15 Last Story Again, NOT a brag... just testament to Mama-Instincts... 2ND CHILD: So, my daughter was 4 wks old when my husband and I got home late one night after playing cards at a friend's house... The bottom had JUST fallen otta the sky because the rain just suddenly began coming down HARD and HEAVY!!! We waited in the truck for a moment hoping it would die down but it didnt. I had a strange feeling but I honestly thought I was just worried about slipping and falling in the rain. So I wrapped my tiny girl in her blanket, held her to my chest, bent my body around her, and got out of the truck. My husband went slightly ahead of me to unlock the front door and while I was trying my best to be careful, I was walk /running to the porch. It was lightening and thundering too so i wanted to get outta that crap ASAP. Anyway, as I stepped up kn the porch i felt something on my foot... But i didnt have to look down to find out what it was. A snake had been hiding from the mini -flood (it was probably 4 to 5 inches deep already on the ground ) under the very top step of the porch and when my husband ran up to wards him he probably went on guard... Then here I came. And I was wearing flip flops. (Yes the same ones In wearing in the other story.) Anyway, the snake was dazed for a moment from where he was slung off my foot into the front door. But it less than 2 seconds before he seemed to have shaken it off and CAME RIGHT AT ME. I realize now that my baby wasnt in any real danger bc I was holding her... But at that time I dont think I could've been convinced of that. I went into Mama Bear mode and charged the snake when it got maybe 3 feet away from me... I stepped directly on its head and twisted my foot SO HARD that I killed him... Then I handed my husband the baby and he was so panicked he stood in the doorway, took her from my arms and shut the door in my face. Lol For a moment I just stood there, confused. But i opened the door and went in and we both started laughing. He ofc checked me all over for snake bites even though oki assured him i was fine. But... yeah... 🤦♀️🤷♀️

I was sitting on the gym bleachers at school watching my friend and some others play volleyball when I felt the urge to call out to my friend. She turned to look and took a few steps toward me to ask what I wanted. As she did, the volleyball shot up and hit one of the huge lights hanging from the gym ceiling. The light came crashing down where my friend had been standing seconds earlier.

05:15 3rd Kid This is NOT a BRAG... Just a testament to a Mothers SuperPowers... Leaving my Grandmothers House with my 2 wk old baby in my arms and the diaper bag over my shoulder, we were stepping out of her house down some brick steps into the carport when one of my shoes went one way and my foot went another... I was wearing flip flops that had a bit of a lift on them and I think my foot my have been a bit sweaty? Anyway, although I fell forward and my hands were full trying to protect my infant, I managed to spin, mid air and when i landed, i was on my back and I was holding my baby up away from my chest. My Grandmother swooped him up out of my arms while I lay there for a moment, sorta dazed. I remember feeling head bounce on the concrete when I landed...

05:15 1st kid I was at my Grandmother house, (just before she moved to the house she lived in where I fell in the other story, so not the same hpuse) in the backyard where we were setting up her rock garden /water fountain/ rish pond - thingy... I was about 7 months pregnant with my 2and child and my 1st child was about 3. He was right beside me playing on the large rocks that served as the edge of the water feature when he kept inching closer and closer to the edge of the large rock.( I think he was trying to see the frog on the lily pad.) I had JUST said, "Baby, you better back up, you're gonna fall in!" maybe 2 minutes before he inched just a bit too close to the edge and slipped. As I said, I was LARGELY pregnant but still my instincts kicked in and I managed to grab his ankle, lift him up over my head and set him down besideme.... He wasnt even wet. This may not seem like m8ch but my boy was big for his age. And I was definitely NOT a weakling as I exercised regularly and worked our every chance I had... But I couldn't lift my arm the next day. Btw, the water wasnt over 2 1/2 feet deep... He still could've inhaled the nasty water, gotten cut on the rocks, smashed his head on the rocks at the bottom... etc...

Deer purposely charge at cars during the rut. They'll charge at anything near the tree line, and you notice that road is all tree line. People think the deer are trying to cross the road, but most deer hits like this are during mating season. They are trying to hit the cars. Don't feel too sorry for the deer. In a way it's not an accident, but it's also a stupidity of their nature it happens. People get killed in any case. Deer are more dangerous than wolves.
