The damage done, is done now, to our forest lands, to the plants and animals, fish, and any inhabitant, birds, the resulting smoke, toxins air and water supplies. Unfortunately, better forest management could have taken place. I was recently camping in the Sierra's by Shaver Lake on Dinkey Creek Rd., District 5, Prather Ranger station has jurisdiction, however they, made their own rules, to rid the forests of seniors, disabled and homeless that were abidding by forest rules and policies. While, looking the other way, when, those not targeted in the groups mentioned, allowing them to have camp fires and longer stays....They essentially had different rules for different people. I was informed, by them and they justified their actions by stating, "We want to keep our forests pristine." While at the same time did little in the way of forest management, intervention and prevention. As far as, I am concerned, the sheriff, law enforcement, forest ranger, District Manager Kim Sorini, should all be terminated from their employment. This is my perception of their operations and dishonesty, manipulation and communications as public servants. I would go as far to say, they abuse their power and authority as well. Prior to my encounter with select forest individuals, I was not in favor of defunding the police. My contact with the Prather Office staff, has made me, lose respect for their role as a public servant, as it seemed they were more about self-service and a pay check.

Kathleen Shannon yup. i've lived in the sierra mountains for a long time. and the last couple years they've banned fire or charcoal fires during fire season, but allow the tourists at the camp sites to rage huge fires lol. it's ironic. it started after the camp fire. so many places have piled up brush that was never taken out. so the forest is littered with tinder piles....

@@alexblack6421 Yes, totally agree with you. I do not know you, Mr. Alex Black, but I have been a camp visitor for at least 60 years. I have great respect for the forest land, the people BLM properties, residents and all its inhabitants. Unfortunately, all of the dead wood piles could have been recycled for gardens, other purposes, the piles were left to "spark." All the forest plants and animals have gone up in smoke, any survivors will drink ash/carbon water and have poor air quality and nothing to eat. Years ago, the forest management were supportive, helpful and informative. Thank you for your reply. Take care and stay well.

Dry forest conditions. Lot's of dead, try tinder laying about the forest floor, and WIND. Nothing really wacky; just perfect conditions for raging wildfires. Once a crown fire has started in windy conditions, it spreads from tree to tree in seconds. It doesn't matter how green the trees are when enough heat and wind is supplied.

The firemen and women that serve us are heroes of the world. Every day they protect and serve us without fail day or night 365 days a week, they put their very lives on the line every single day and do so without thinking twice. They deserve a lot more of everything in life . Next time you notice a fireman or woman at the grocery store or getting a bite too eat a quick a "thank you for your service" acknowledgment is always appreciated. Also there's a huge lobby in the state houses that stands to benefit greatly from putting out fires immediately.
