I recommend not to shave your cheeks Jack. Listen to yourself and the great advice in your video, "wear YOUR beard with confidence". Those cheeks are unique to you, I'd grow them if I could. I'm doing this journey with you and I am on the same week of growth. Honestly, your beard is so thick that its somewhat discouraging, and since we are on the same exact time period of growth it's hard not to compare myself to your beard and feel insecure. I seriously and legitimately consider shaving my beard every other day. However, I'm sticking with it because I think I'll learn something valuable from this experience. I'm 27 and my beard is indeed thicker from my younger years, but is still only 30% as thick as yours. Appreciate the enjoyment you've had and that you're having on the yeard journey. For me, after the two month mark, it lost almost all of its enjoyment of a new look and fell into feelings of inadequacy. However, now it's a challenge. A personal challenge I accepted, to prove to myself that I'm much more than my patchy ass beard. To inspire others with either thicker or patchier beards that... if I can rock it, they can too!

Hey Jack, I started growing out my beard in your shape starting in November when I went on a golf trip down to Arkansas with my uncle and grandfather. Right after I got back from the trip my uncle was diagnosed with cancer, which took his life two weeks ago. I am now keeping it in remembrance of him and it is a major confidence booster having a beard. I just received my first beardbrand styling balm as well. Jack, I am not growing a yeard, but the tips you share every week have been helpful. I love Beardbrand and love your balms. I was hesitant to try your beard oils because I felt that the amount in a bottle did not justify the price. That was till I saw one of your videos where you said that Beardbrand's quality was so good that a you don't need much beard oil. A small bottle can last. That convinced me to give it a try. I got the temple smoke. It is definitely worth the price. During an office day, the scent lasted me a good 8 hours. It is a cologne experience that you get. I'm a hairy dude. Chest hair, happy trail, hairy arms and legs. Luckily no back hair lol. But my beard didn't really come in til a year and a half ago (I'm almost 23 now). And when it did I got a lot of compliments ! It's a darker red/strawberry blonde color. I was insecure about it at first but learnt that it looked good and was super unique! Point of all of this is to say that every guy is different. Their beard style, color, thickness, etc. So take what you've got and own it!

Pretty wild that your facial hair started at 13. Mine didn't really start until I was about 20, and I'll be 33 tomorrow. I only rocked a chin beard/goatee for a long time. I didn't get the density I wanted for a full beard until just in the past couple of years. Now, my beard is about as dense as yours, and I just hit the half way point of my yeard this past Sunday. Just proves your point of not getting discouraged about your facial hair and to rock what you got; the beard of your dreams may still come in some day.

You Got to rock what you got. I have a very strong goatee. I oil it when it needs, balm it when it needs. At 33 I can still dry scrape my cheeks with no issues after. Being confident in what I have to work with has helped a lot. Thank you beardbrand.

Ok, I understand the simplicity of the Yeard experiment and the nuisance of shaving even once or twice a week but seriously, Jack, you probably should reconsider shaving those high cheek hairs. Objectively, they are dramatically incongruous with the rest of your very admirable beard growth. As an experiment, I think the high cheek hairs have finally overstayed their welcome, and your ideal style has to incorporate a certain amount of "maintenance" to be intentional and not just the "no razor" mantra. All due respect to your impressive commitment thus far.

My facial hair may be patchy at the moment (I’m 16) but I will grow it out regardless, I reckon that when I am older maybe your age my patches will eventually fill in, I will not shave anymore not because shaving makes you look younger, but is expensive, so everyone grow your beard

I started growing peach fuzz at about 8 and started shaving at 12 and about a year ago when I was 13 was when I started growing noticeable hair on my cheeks, chin and jaw, I just shaved my whole face for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I just wanted to add that I in fact started puberty really early at around 6 or 7. Also I got chest hair at around 9 or 10, I don't know if that's a problem or not but can't do anything about it now.

great video my beard journey has been pretty simple. It started in summer 2016 when i started to get too lazy to shave, just after i turned 17. It started of as just kind of messy scruff with not much colouration for a couple of months, however by around Christmas it started to feel like a real beard. Ive always kept it as full as possible but have been through stages of different lengths as i try cutting or less off each time i go to the barbers. Im really impressed of where it is now, however I still consider the moustache lacking. Ive rocked it all the way to about a third or half the way down my neck, and it feels great.

Growing a beard is genetic right. So if your family has beards you are most likely gonna grow one that is very similar is style. My whole family, the guys are bearded. Typical dad beard, I love it and really want one. I wasn't able to grow a single hair until I was about 19/20. Now I am almost 23 (similar to this guy), and ive got a thick but also thin chin strap. My lip and under my lip are barely starting to grow some darker hairs and the hair on my cheeks are slowly going further up my cheeks. I can like feel my full fledged bear growing ability is only a year or two away but its so frustrating. I am struggling cause I only want to have a beard if I can do it properly, but I also don't want to shave so I can see what I can do at the moment. Currently, I havent shaved in like 2 months and its the biggest hair growth ive had and a massive improvement from the alst time i went more than 2 weeks without shaving. But I think im going to shave again and wait another year before trying it again.

I'm Brazilian. Our educational system resembles that of the United States. You have elementary school, it's 9 years old, we start at 6 and finish at 15. Then comes high school, from 15 to 18 years old and then we can choose to go to college, we usually start at 18 and most of the courses lasts from 2 to 4 years.

Jacob Fulbright yeah my mate was the same, he has blonde hair but his beard was like bleach blonde so it looked very pubey and wirey even though i could tell it was thick. I told him too dye it a darker blonde and it worked out really well, made a big difference. He grew it out for 3 weeks whiles trimming it then let it grow naturally for another 2 then dyed it. You might want to try it out.

Im a junior and i STILL have a peach fuzz moustache and goatee but a couple of chins hairs are terminal but that doesnt matter🙄.

I wasn't first able to grow facial hair until 15 and a half (end of 10th grade). During the 2nd week of my Junior year, I got dress coded for it & got told to shave it off. I'm almost 17.

My beard has texture and growth exactly like yours mate! My beard kicked in when i was 17 lol and now im 23

I am 15 years old and I am facial hair less lol. I had a super high pitched voice when I was 14. I have tiny hair on my face and it is peach fuzz but no one notices it. When I take pictures, I seems like I have none and I do not shave. Maybe in 2 and a half to 3 years I will get facial hair. My dad hit puberty at around same time as me but he barely had a mustache at age 20 and before that had no facial hair then in his early 20's he started growing facial hair and his facial hair did not fully develop until he was in his 27's or 28's. Genetics is super complicated but at the end, probably all guys will get facial hair.

Lol I'm fourteen, but have a slight moustache. Everyone developes at different speeds. I'm trying to work out, if I should shave it off or not.
