Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia folks! Day one and we're at The Nook On Piedmont to take on their 'Macho Totcho' Challenge...
This thing was famously failed by the new host on Man V Food, despite a valiant effort. And having seen it, I can understand why. The rules of the challenge are as follows; you get 45 minutes to take down a mountain of tater tots, pulled pork, chicken, chilli, mac 'n cheese, bacon, sour cream and jalapeños, covered in bbq, cheese and buffalo sauce. Finish it inside the allotted time and not only is the meal FREE but you get two winner's t-shirts and a spot on their wall of fame. Lose and it's $40!

ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS & ADDITIONAL INFO:
Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

‘Sup folks! Hope you’re full of the joys of spring this Thursday and thanks as always for your continued enthusiasm for the stuff I’ve been putting out this year… Tonight we’re kicking off the adventure in Atlanta (and the surrounding area) with a crack at a food challenge seldom defeated…not even by the dude from that television show… Hope you like it and I’ll be back on Sunday at 7pm UK time with the next instalment! ’Til then, stay insatiable :) *Special thanks to @HiHoneyMusic for the intro track in tonight’s video 🎶

Mate that's so true, makes me feel bad for us here in the UK - the other side of the Atlantic people just seem to be automatically friendly, but here in England you seem to have to earn peoples good graces!
@fatrunner
@fatrunner 2 жыл бұрын
@@Treborbobuk I think some of it is the tipping culture in the USA. Staff want it to be busy so they get more tips. Therfore they have a vested interest in the business. In the UK it's often people on low fixed wages who don't really care how busy the place is or if people come back.

@@fatrunner Sounds logical, also adds up with my experience that, once you've been to the same place a few times and the staff sees you appreciate their work & tip them decently (which some people just doesn't seem to do) they tend to warm up quite a bit.

Let me just say that I'm glad more places embrace eating comps and do not try to sabotage or get upset when a pro comes in, makes for a much more enjoyable video and makes the eateries look good too. One fifth of that is literally a normal order. And I think you might be right about that. I'm thinking their normal orders are very generous. It's huge plate of food. And they put five of them on that plate. 5 pounds of tatter tots and another pound of other ingredients for a total weight of 6 pounds.

I once had some people from Germany come into the bar I work at. They asked me what a tater tot was. I said "it's like a bite-sized hash brown." They asked me what a hash brown was. I learned then that there wasn't really any way to explain what a tater tot was without making it sound kind of gross. Now I know that they do have hash browns in Germany, they're just called rosti.
@pflaumenaugust876
@pflaumenaugust876 10 ай бұрын
Yeah, we have some variation of tater tots in Germany - we call them "Kroketten". But our Kroketten are just a basic, mildly seasoned, deep fried potato dough, no onions, no garlic. They are served as a side dish, for example to some roast with gravy. We know "Rösti" (hash browns) as a typical Swiss specialty.

Yeah, it's similar to a tot casserole, a common 50-70s recipe that used frozen/caned foods to replace the traditional fresh varients. They typically use potato tots, potato rounds, or hashbrown pucks as a main starch with a savory sauce and vegetables, some of the common ones I remember is a ground beef and mushroom soup base with potato tots on top, or a hashbrown patty base with an egg mixture with meats/veg served by the slice (think firmer quiche).

My home town!! Welcome to the south where you're going to experience all 4 seasons in one day! Also hope you don't get confused with all the Peachtree road, street, drive, court, parkway etc etc lol.

Seems like a well thought out challenge. Great plate choice, good flavors, difficult but not impossible and Adam crushed it. Well done!

I hope you come back to Canada sometime Beard! I wasn't an avid viewer back when you came but now I watch every video and the wife and I have already visited two of the restaurants you did when you were here! Also just realized I'm a disgrace to the beard name and that I wasn't subbed, that's fixed now!

I found it hilarious you had what looked to be a giant camera on your head. I would like to challenge you to an impossible challenge: eat a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich on wonder bread, WITHOUT any of it sticking to the top of your mouth. Good luck Mr. Beard 😈

I'm Canadian, but have many British family members. I understand when you rent small cars, because England, and Europe in general have smaller cars than North America does. My cousin drove us to Heathrow airport in a pickup truck from here, and it took up about a lane and a quarter in London. Driver gave us dirty looks, and got out of the way for us. He said that was the fastest he'd ever gotten to the airport, ever. Love your videos!

Oh boy! That was intense but you did it! Salt overload but very worth it. After all , you need good prises just to attempt it. Fantastic job. X

Here, Tator Tots are called Potato Gems. I really enjoy them oven baked, rather than fried. Not to save calories, but just because they are less sickly when baked. Lovely with sour cream and cheese. Thank you for the video. Have a gala weekend!

Great job! Love the content (though I wish the vids weren't sped up so much) though I understand with the algorithm and retention for viewers, just love watching you take these challenges down! Not intended as a complaint. Much love from Canada, Beard power!!
