Thanx 4 being a non conformist , but better thank you for being yourself ! I've had facial hairs upon my face since 1990- ish . My preset beard since Feb 2014 & aimlessly being a beardster - your channel & U tube in general has been a BIG inspiration & I've been discouraged twice since February , however , I view you men that keep going ahead ! Great vid. I am with you all the way. I grew my beard last September through this February. My wife had a meltdown and I shaved it off to a goatee. It's really frustrating to me and a real strain on my relationship. I saw Your vid with your wife and her acceptance of your beard. I so wished my wife was the same. I have to say that I agree with you 100% Mr Owen.I have different people always coming up to me with their negativity about my beard.My reply is always the same....There are two kinds of people on planet Earth without a beard.These would be women and youth,I am neither. agree 100%. Why would we have growing hair on our face? It doesn't stop at a short length like our eyebrows or eyelashes. THERE IS A REASON men have beards. All men should sport them, because they are MEANT TO BE. Nice video, and keep on the beard wisdom!

So why are the ladies able to grow their hair long down their backs but I get grief for growing my beard hair down my front! They are not dirty or unkempt and neither am I. It has nothing to do with not taking care of myself. This is how I am supposed to look. Bearded.

Have you tried riding a bike while you've had your beard? If I keep growing mine I think I'll buy a bike to see what it feels like. I'm at four months so far with a poor attempt at a three month trim.

My beard is 5 inches long now. It is a full white thick beard. I call it my frosting. I wear bib overalls most of the time and I have a mountain man-hillbilly look. My beard makes me look tough and mean so people don't screw with me much. I was at menards the other day and I heard a couple guys talking about me. They said, "that dude is the real grizzly adams. As I was walking into menards, there was an older gent wearing overalls sitting on a bench outside and as I walked by, he gave me a nod as to acknowledge me in my overalls. I seen other people walk by him but I was the only one he gave a nod to. I went to the barber who is a friend of mine about 2 weeks ago and one of the other barbers asked me how uncle Si was doing. On another note, I have been using a new soap for my beard, it is called black pine tar from mosoap. It is the best soap I have used for my hair, beard and body. I don't have to use anything else for my beard. I keeps it soft and healthy. I highly recommend it.

Hey man, I'm growing my beard out too. I'm a month &ya half into it. I've noticed my beard is really curly and it's sticks out on the sides a lot and looks really wild if you know what I mean. I'm kinda self conscious about it because people notice and think I should shave. But I really like my beard and I don't want to shave. Does the beard straighten itself out with length? Or will it just get really, curly? Just wondering because my beard is looking wild.

BrAnDoN062694420 You can look back at an older video when my beard was at your length and see that mine stuck out too, but I was determined not to cut it. Eventually the weight of it eventually pulled it down. You can't expect it to look exactly like someone else's. Your beard is unique. If you like it then it doesn't matter what others think.

Growing a beard means being more masculine. I think that billions of people would agree. So maybe, it partly has to do with the feminization of men. You could apply this to everything that makes men masculine. Give me your thoughts and opinions. Peace.

Stephen Griffin It can make you look older, but only to those who already know you. I've rarely had someone guess my age wrong even with a beard (in person at least)

seems to me as if beards (and long hair for that matter) were meant to protect the neck of a man while hunting, maybe it's something we haven't evolved away from because we haven't had to. just a thought.
