Some random takes on this music video: the pink triangle she shows when starting and finishing the video is the pink triangle Nazis used to mark homossexual men in order to identify them. Notice how the video starts with it upside down, just as Nazis used to, and ends with it straight, maybe symbolizing and finding a way do rebrand a horrific historic moment for us gays. The video is full of references, like Salvador Dali’s “Watching the Birth of the New Man” in the beginning (you guys probably noticed by now she is a big fan of surrealism), and in the end, when she shows a hybrid of Madonna/Michael Jackson, maybe paying homage to their own support and sacrifices to equality in the world and self acceptance, which are this video’s theme

The video is exactly 10 years old. (Feb 2011). Imagine what what an umpacktet those lyrics had back then to an insecure gay boy who struggled. She really made a change and a difference we haven’t had before in that generation, especially female artists used to play very safe on the „beautiful, sexy, no one offending card“, i guess that’s a big part why her fans are so loyal. and to be honest, this song wouldn’t have had any impact if she was dancing in a beautiful dress on the beach of hawaii in the videoclip. you should watch paparazzi and telephone... back to back because they belong together.

I was one of those insecure little gay boys. Lady Gaga began to be a beacon of acceptance for me in a time when I couldn’t accept myself and had been taught to hate myself and my feelings by my very conservative-religious school upbringing. I was only in 7th grade when Born This Way dropped and had never heard anyone speak the term gay in a positive way. Gaga may have saved me😢

A few fun facts: There is also a Manifesto of Little Monsters which was an interlude at her 2009-2011 Monster Ball Tour. This is her Manifesto of Mother Monster. When she talks about a more terrifying birth taking place - the red people moving around, the camera pans from the top to the bottom and it’s actually a Skull 💀! Also, some other comments might have this but the ending is her homages to greats like Madonna (the gap), and Michael Jackson (the gloves). Her face looks rigged or what not because she is from “G.O.A.T.”, I believe Mother Monster is the one w the three eyes but she wanted to “birth a new race, a race within the race of humanity, that bears no prejudice, no judgment, etc.” which were Gaga and all the dancers who were almost “naked” looking. The story of this video continued on at her tour for this album, The Born This Way Ball. And here she is a prisoner for attempting to birth a new race, she escapes, and Mother G.O.A.T. (Not Mother Monster) is pissed and wants to literally and I quote “Kill The Bitch.” It’s such an amazing show, so much story in between too and Gaga ends up k!lling mother GOAT towards the end of the show. She is amazing!
