Still believing in Santa Claus...um....what's your underlying health condition and what were you doing before ending up in the hospital...i.e. wearing a mask for the past year maybe? Think logical...they haven't even isolated this planned virus yet, and using the PCR research tool is adjustable...not a diagnostic tool. Just saying...you probably made yourself sick by suffocating your respiratory system. Smh...can't believe people are buying this brainwashing by corrupt CDC, media and government regarding a flu bug that is 99.8% recoverable. Big pharma is paying for all the marketing and advertising...FEAR FEAR FEAR. Stop watching TV, ingesting fluoride and junk food.

Living on acreage we had our 2 beautiful Maremma LGD girls who looked out for the whole family but especially the kids when they were outside playing. We don’t have bears but they patrolled the property and all the local wildlife knew it was their territory. One would sit by the youngest while she was playing and the other would take a higher view point and watch. We always kept an eye out but to have that extra layer of security was incredibly helpful especially as we had a lot of snakes. They will train you and the kids and we all knew the snake bark!

After living in a National Forest for 8 years my advice is to make noise. When you see a bear, talk to it. “Go away bear.” Honestly, for the most part black bears don’t want to hang about with you. You do have some draws with the chickens and sheep but as you say, the humans are the number one priority. Have bear spray handy. There are bears that develop nuisance behavior if someone is feeding them, and that is not something you can control beyond your property. They are lots of fun to watch and take pictures of though. Just know they are drawn to even bird feeders so minimize that draw. House is looking great!

Congratulations on the finished framing. Save as much of the scrap pile as you can. When I was a kid, my grandfather would make toys for me from some of the scraps. Later, I did the same for my son. The scraps will come in handy in the shop. While you are framing, consider building one of the small rooms into a safe room too. You need to scare the bear off before your garden and livestock become too tempting for her. I figure the chickens are most at risk. BTW a grizzly bear recently attacked a hiker in Yellowstone. Good Luck, Rick

Wow, a 7'X16' walk in closet is a dream come true for me! That's a Master suite not a bedroom area! Very nice! Black bears usually scare easily with noise. Air horns, fireworks and shooting blanks for a couple days usually encourages Momma to move her cubs to a safer location. If you find a lost baby turkey you can raise it up for a holiday dinner. Sometimes mom can't keep track of them all and with a few slight changes in food turkeys can be raised with the chickens. Keep those eyes open out there.

Another great video GSL👍👍 I enjoy your beautiful landscape and nature surrounding your little homestead. Praying mama bear and her cubs will find another safe location away from your homestead. We all know mama's are very protective of our babies. The house is shaping up nicely. Love your insights at the end of the video Melissa ❤ In my thoughts and prayers. God Bless y'all ✌❤😊

Be very weary of black bears they are lightening fast can run faster then you on any terrain . They can also climb a tree faster , to the point of waiting for you at the top . Have seen it many times gold panning .

Melissa I really love the floor plan on your house, it's beautiful, spacious, and that view from the "Master Suite", (I don't think I would ever leave that room LOL.) However, Jeremy's "toilet room" is quite lovely too! 😁 The two of you have created some of the most wonderful memories there already, such a great way to start a new chapter to your lives.

How about pocket doors. Hide those chocolate 🍫, my favorite also. You have a way with words, bring tears to my eyes. I still remember my late husband and the first new home we ever had. We loved there , he died there in my arms after 45 years. Remember everything it will stay in your heart for years.

your words, Melissa, reminded me so much of one of my most favourite books: “I should say: the house shelters day-dreaming, the house protects the dreamer, the house allows one to dream in peace.” ― Gaston Bachelard , The Poetics of Space

Oh there I go... you got me right in the feels with your closing speech this time. Totally agree with every word. The structure of a house holds so much more than just objects. It holds memories, laughter, loves and losses. Thats what makes it more than a house, thats what makes it home. Thank you for sharing your videos. I've been watching for years and look forward to watching for many more. 💜🐔🌱

It's the small things that are so important. It's good that a family understands that a house is loving when it shelters loving people. I've been inside houses that were cold and hostile because it reflected it's owners. It sounds crazy but it's none the less true. Blessings be upon you and yours and the home you are building.
