No he's not a bust, it's too early. People are so quick to glorify fast starts, and so quick to criticize slow starts. It doesn't happen for everybody the same way, certain things take more time to happen then others. Let the man have one year, then analyze it after that.

How can he be a bust 9 games into the season? He’s not bad, he doesn’t have really anything but an alright defense, Richardson was impressive before his injury, and CJ Stroud is playing insanely well, better than people are giving him credit for, and he’s getting a lot of credit. I think we got a pretty underrated QB class with 3 capable starters.

The only difference is Kyler had Larry Fitzgerald still and David Johnson (the best receiving back at that time) out the backfield for dumpoffs. Russ, well... he had Pete Carrol, the legion of boom, golden tate, sidney rice, zach miller, and most importantly Marshawn going for 1590, 11 TDs, and 196 rec yrds...

In the middle of a rebuild the Panthers blew it up . They could have kept last year team intact draft dude and had baker to four year grooming like Green Bay did love .while they loaded the defense. That offensive last year team was loaded two deep in depth . Matt Ruhle left Carolina loaded while that line developed chemistry .I would have continued with a strong run game and depth . This would have been baker second year in that system. They play the same and have the same measurements. I would not have blown it up and I would have kept the interim coach . Now fast forward to this year . New head coach New offensive system New QB Overhaul the defense New defensive system or coordinator New coaching staff Developing offensive line And the pressure of a number 1 pick at QB who plays the position from the pocket. You took away some weapons Plus having to adjust to the speed of the NFL game Alabama was built to NFL standards most of the teams they played where not . Now everyone has what Alabama had he plays he can't go over because the unit he was on had superior talent and NFL level coaching. It is going to take a minute for them to fit the system learn to call on the NFL standards and understand game management Its growing pains he is a pass first QB who can run if need be aka Chris leak .Baker Mayfield so it's will look like this for a minute.

I'm tired of this narrative about how smart Young is. As true as that may be, that puts him in a group with who? Chad Pennington and Jay Cutler? As a Panthers fan, I don't like the evidence that says his ceiling is probably "slightly above average"

I remember when they had the chance to grow and let them go from college boy QB to a 25-26-27-28 year old man and learn!!!! If your not turning around a 1-16 team to a 15-2 team as a rookie your career is a one and done then move to the next#1 pick next year!!!! That usc QB is gonna be the same next year if the bottom 3-5 teams get him next year lol

Did we all forget what happened to Trevor Lawrence his first year? He played not to what everyone “expected” and then they was talking “is he a bust?” He had no weapons then they brought him Kirk, Jones and Engram and now he’s being the QB he’s supposed to be. This is the same with Bryce Young he has no legitimate weapons. They’ll get him that next year and then he’ll go off watch!

The "Justin Fields" offense isn't talked about: 2WR 30+ yards deep each play on go/post routes, TE cross/corner route, 2 RBs to help block an extra 1-2 seconds and potentially to go for a wheel route, let Fields run if no one is open. You don't need to traditionally run the ball when you have Fields who is the most dynamic runner and can run with 1-2 RBs in front of him or do an option pitch or use them as a decoy reversing field like Payton did. Throw it or QB run/option every play and run hurry up offense the entire game. Exhaust the defense with your youth. Bears offense solved. You're welcome! Fields needs the simplest offense in the league and to do it to perfection so his decision process speeds up. Sweep left, sweep right, option left/right, flea flicker l/r, etc. 8 plays you alternate. Vince Lombardi would agree. Tecmo Superbowl alumni would also agree. Bears don't need a new QB but a simple offense, a new OC and a new big nasty lineman in the first round. If Fields doesn't run/throw 300 yards a game, with 21 points average, then it's like a Greek tragedy. The offense must be re-created for the QB and the weapons he has.
