Again just amazing way to analyze the situation. Fields really deserves the best! Started watching die hard in 2020. Tape, podcasts, and just everything released about the bears I watched. Fields was my guy! But I can acknowledge all of his flaws and can’t wait to see what’s next. Amazing pod!

I've been kind of hard on Robert but this podcast completely changed my opinion. Really classy and reasonable take on the Fields situation. Couldn't agree more. I support the Caleb decision and this podcasts perfectly explains why. I'm excited about Caleb's potential. I could see how JF supporters saw a path to success with a trade back, so I never grilled that take. I think Poles has to take Caleb because of his ceiling though. Great pod guys!

The problem for me is rookie acclimation/progression. Stroud is the exception not the rule. Ask Troy Aikman and Payton Manning.

@@busterbrown1686Most rookies are put into horrible situations and forced to be “the guy” with no talent around them. Caleb is coming into a fantastic situation which will make it much easier to acclimate into the league.

The Moore/Allen Yin-Yang comp is spot on. There’s an obvious move for Shane Waldron to say on the sidelines: “Hey Caleb, if it’s man look for DJ, he’ll be here. If it’s zone, look for Keenan, he’ll be there.” It honestly makes knowing where to go on a given play so much easier if you’re just reading man/zone.
@kyledabearsfan8 ай бұрын
yeah, and if they take Rome at 9 that would just be a scary WR room. But i suspect they will trade down from 9 and take another WR (maybe Brian Thomas Jr?? or a OL/Edge)
@mikelinden91758 ай бұрын
Isn’t Keenan Allen one of the best against man? I just think teams can’t run man against us at all lol.

I think saying JF1 isn't a top 32 QB is pretty silly. I think he's top 20 already from last year. With Arthur Smith in Pitt he'll be in that pa deep shot offense if he has the chance to start. But that's enough of JF1 I think it was the wrong decision but it's done and I'm excited for Caleb and what this new team can be. Winning solves everything and as a Bears fan since Rashaan Salam, I don't ever remember feeling like a Bears team was this primed to win. To have this much talent AND the 1 pick is literally unprecedented. My only fear is I know fans are goofy and our fanbase is uniquely stupid right now and Caleb is coming into a volatile situation. But he's also coming into a better situation that no #1 has ever been. So it's fair to put some heat on him to say we maybe don't need CJ Stroud, but we should at least get Brock Purdu

We’ve gotten to the point where we can make intuitive guesses on what play is going to generate narratives on how Caleb’s overrated and what the 2026 Super Bowl -deferring credit-to-other-players post game speech is going to be 😂😂😂 Love it Guys!!!

I love what Ryan Poles is doing and how he goes about his job. He is a pro. He has a vision. Whether or not I’m happy with his moves, he is fearless and decisive. He has turned this franchise around in a short few years. Last but not least he is a class act. Bears fans, GET OVER IT.
@jayr8778 ай бұрын
There is enough blame on the Bears going around from how they didn’t develop him to how they only got a conditional 6th round pick for him. At some point, the fans that are upset have to come to the realization that Fields has to shoulder the blame also. Actually, I know that reasonable thinking people already know this, but the truth is Justin was not an accurate passer and did not read the field well. Those things are well documented. People argue that we should have kept him here for all of the new weapons we just got… Why? We got the golden ticket. Why would we pass up on that 2 years in a row? Justin is not Poles’ guy. Poles was Director of Scouting for Kansas City and was, in part, responsible for drafting Mahomes. Poles had 2 years to observe Justin and made a decision and I trust his decision. I can actually see why he made the decision. Life is not fair and it never will be. Justin is a great team guy, but this conversation should be put to bed. He’s with the Steelers now. We literally sent him for a bag of peanuts… who’s to blame for that 🤷🏾♂️ Let’s all just move on.

I don’t get the “ not to dunk on Justin” rhetoric..Whats wrong with calling out a players flaws?? We called out flaws for every Quarterback we’ve ever had.. all of the sudden were gonna stop because its Justin Fields?? 😳 nah men if were gonna be fair? We should be able to point out his flaws without feeling guilty about it. For example i am one of those people that believes Justin Fields did NOT improve form his college years. I have no idea why people say he did 🤨

We'll see how it all plays out. Everybody been saying "Mahomes 2.0" ok let's see it now. Mahomes got 3 rings, and all I'm looking to see is at least 1 ring. I don't care about no damn playoffs appearance. I only want to see at least one super bowl win. He's "Mahomes 2.0" right? I expect a super bowl ring within 3 years. I'm giving him the exact same amount of time as the last guy.

Fields or not, I'm an ABC Guy - Anybody But Cdub. He fumbles at THREE times the rate of Mahomes, Purdy or Brady. The most recent "generational" guy, TLaw, is a fumbler and now holds the record for fumbles lost in a single game for over 100 years of NFL football. He did it in just 2 years, and Cdub could eclipse him . THAT generational fellow, despite undeniable arm talent, also had a passer rating of like 85 after all this time. I am about RISK, and this is a basically unreported red flag ignored by every Cdub lovestruck analyst. Do QB fumblers ever get fixed? Can you point to ONE???

I would say that USC isn’t losing Games because of that. They lose because their defense was ranked 116 and the OL is very bad yet he only threw 5ints of which 3 was 1 bad half game against ND whome he beat when he had a better team around him. I’m a Bears fan and I’m supporting Caleb because he worked hard to get where he is at and the hate isn’t supported by real facts for the most part. I’m excited because CW coming to the NFC Central put him immediately as the most talented thrower im his division.

That's so strange. Normally, a guy with Such Great Protection from his o-line, like the kind of protection we see here at 22:45 kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJrMfGVni998ldE has No Problem hanging onto the ball. & when your coaches call for you to not throw to certain receivers on certain plays, that gives you more time to scramble around uselessly while holding onto the ball. Between that & the o-line providing quick, easy access to fields, he should have _MORE_ chances to hang onto the ball, not less. It's really so bizarre. Thanks for all your facts & stats.
