Yeah…40s is the way to go with these trucks when lifted especially if you are going off road. I mean why not right? Lol. Awesome looking rig and I like that a CJC customer has gone beyond the “ideal” 37s on the carli systems. If you’re leveling these HD trucks then yes 37s looks sick and still run fine with little work. 40s will require more maintenance but I’m glad you’re using them! Cheers for the content.

Thanks a Ton! This project has go way past reasonable! Lol. I love her. I have tons of Mods that are on the list, but I have to go slow since I’m try to keep my wife. Lol. I love CJC but they have what I can Cali trucks, pretty but not true off road machines. One day I’d like to put the dominator on mine but we’ll that might be a few years.

@@allinsurvival7542 yeah I hear ya. Happy wife happy life lol so I decided to get my wife her own truck so she can’t tell me what to do with mine 😎. Honestly if I plan to transform a truck that runs 40+” tires I’d get the AEV prospector XL package because the 3” lift with massive wheelwells and moving the front axle forward an inch = perfect geometry for 40s. Tbh they almost look small in those wheelwells so if you were to regear to 5.38s you could economically run 44s and still have clearance. At that point tho the truck would have to be a utility vehicle and not a daily driver. I’m excited to see what you come up with!
@allinsurvival75423 жыл бұрын
@@amolinari9 I mean technically you could be right if you can come up with $120,000 at a dealership yes you can have an AV prospector XL. I bought my 2020 in December and got a $16,000 discount. Then I sold my 2013 Tundra which was paid off almost 5 years earlier and I put $15,000 in parts almost all of them AEV into the truck. I wasn’t really a fan of the suspension the ATV puts on the truck so I went with Carly back country I would love to have the dominator but I just couldn’t come up with the extra 3500$. I’m still waiting on my 19.5 winch and everything that goes with it is another $3500. There are always a few complications and a few things that need to still be addressed with the truck but for the most part she runs good and she looks good………
@amolinari93 жыл бұрын
@@allinsurvival7542 oh yeah sorry I didn’t mean brand new lol. I’d take an older 4th gen like the 2011 ram 2500 (last year truck didn’t have DEF) and then add the top of the line suspension system for $15k installed (carli dominator or AEV XL prospector which gives you interior and exterior upgrades too). Then you’d be looking at a $45k investment as opposed to 120k lol.

AEV recommends moving the front axle 1.6” forward to fit 40’s, and I believe they accomplish this with their RT suspension system which includes radius arm drop brackets that push the arms forward. And they modify the drag link, track bar, and some other parts. Did you move the front axle forward? If so, how did you do it using Carli parts?
@allinsurvival75423 жыл бұрын
well, thanks for the comment... when I first started to look into getting a large off-road truck I started with wanting a diesel, then seeing and driving the 2500 Mega cab well that just locked it in. I have known of AEV for a very long time but the thought of coming up with the 110K to buy an already factory-completed prospector one was just a bit out of my reach. in ended up with a 2020 and the very end of the year run and with a large discount, was able to swing the payment. I then sold my Tundra for a good price on the open market and set a budget. AEV wanted 29K for their prospector XL and that was on the low end. so instead I went with the bumpers and flares. then I wanted the Carli Dominator with the 2,5 Kings but I had to settle with the Backcountry with 2.0 Fox and they seem great. Down the road, if I can I will upgrade. I'm sure the RT from AEV is ok but sadly there is NO way they come close to Carli as for their 1.6inch push well yes that might be nice but I just have to cut and squeeze then bug nasty 40s in there, so far not to bad I have a little more trimming and work to do but all in all not bad. IT'S A WORK IN PROGRESS and I'm happy about it....
@erictorin38473 жыл бұрын
@@allinsurvival7542 Thanks for the explanation! I'm in a similar situation: I have the AEV flares, will likely buy the AEV front bumper, but I don't want their suspension...I have a Power Wagon, and I can't bring myself to actually *shorten* my front springs to use the AEV RT system. I have the Carli setup (but with different shocks), and haven't moved the front axle either, but want to. The Carli drop brackets would make the actual axle move easy, but there are a lot of other details to wrangle, which is why I was asking. I'll post here again if/when I know more about a solution.

@erictorin3847 about to put the carli dominator kit in my pw. I wanted to move my drive shaft for 40s too. Lmk too...lol
@erictorin1703 Жыл бұрын
@@Man_in_the_moon_oahu I ended up installing the AEV suspension kit for the front, but with Carli shocks and drop brackets, modified with radius arm fulcrums redrilled to move the axle forward. Way less rub with the front axle moved.

Sorry for the delay, been a crazy week with a sick little one. Well, the Honest Answer is that I planed on waiting for next summer for full regear (Nitro gear 4.56 ) and ARB air lockers. will take at easy on the off-roading this year just a few dirt roads and such. As for the transition well ill wait till it starts to give me issues before I go in a do a real rehaul. thanks for watching, and your comments.

Does running 37inch + take away from the front articulation?
@allinsurvival75422 жыл бұрын
I’m not an expert, but I’m sure if you didn’t have a lift I absolutely would. There are moments I bottom out. Especially turning and hitting a bump same time. Over all the addition of the Carli suspension saved the day!

But why the MegaCab? Does that make the wheelbase longer??
@allinsurvival75422 жыл бұрын
Well if you take a closer look at my channel you’ll see I’m into Preparedness. The truck is my overland and bug out vehicle! The truck has secondary fuel tanks to help with getting were my safe zone is. The Mega cab is filled with supplies and camping equipment. Everything on the truck was for a purpose. Thanks so much for the add. I have you watch a few more videos and like and comment. Same wheel base just short bed.

Honestly, they are squishy but off-road that’s good right but I was rolling on Toyos MTs. So far I like them but the ride PSI is very Low, they are definitely not big trailer rated. 37PSI !!

Great lookin rig. But I gotta ask how tall are you. I have a 2019 3500 on the Carli 3.25 pintop and that mirror is the same hight as my head. (I’m 5ft 9in) and I’m in 37’s. I’ll have to look you up next time I’m in LV. (I’m there several times a year) maybe we could find a little trail to hit. I really need to run my pintop in the desert. Up here in the PNW three are not may high speed trails to run in a full size rig.

Why not go with a power wagon? It seems to be a way more capable off road truck. ?
@allinsurvival75423 жыл бұрын
There’s no question the Power wagon is a very capable off road rig. However my first requirement was diesel, other than that it’s essentially the same truck there are a few things that the power wagon give you standard that I have to do aftermarket. But after I change out the gears and put the air lockers, essentially it’s the same truck if not better as a diesel. Just one man’s opinion everyone’s got one!

I absolutely considered it! Was thinking lockers and re-gear! But after talking to several mechanics they said it wasn't needed with the amount of torque the 2500/ 3500 have. I might get a little more MPG but it don't see many negatives with the 40s!
