I remember finding out about this toy from your video and a few weeks ago I found him in a local used toys shop, I got exited because transformers are pretty rare in my country, especially vintage ones so I grabbed him and only at home discovered that he's missing entire chest! Shame really, and now this video got recommended to me, oh the irony

That's ok. I'll have to agree that she is unique. Also, according to the TF wiki, it's kind of a shame that Botanica didn't get a toy, being a transformer with the alt mode of a plant. (also would have been funny to see how Scott would have reacted to a figure of her) Do you know of any others like her that did get a toy release or is she the only plant-to-robot transformer?

Coming form the year 2022, would be cool to see this mold adapted to the new (ish) Airazor model from Transformers Generations Kingdoms, Beast Wars line. Would probably work better as a voyager to better make use of the shark head and tail though.

also, I love that little guy, I had him twice do to an error when I was a little kid and after he was lost in my family's exagerated generosity along most of my Beast Wars toys, I recently got another one, and he's as good as I remembered him :D ever tried unplugging the shark head from the hinge and plugging it in his hand? makes for a MASSIVE hammer weapon!

As the Basic Fuzors go Air Hammer is probably the best one. Quickstrike is mostly translucent plastic and gets floppy quickly as a result, Buzzclaw and Terragator rely on weapon partsforming that both ruin the toy if you lose the weapons, Noctorro isn't great and Bantor is good, but not quite as good as Air Hammer. Air Hammer is just a solid Basic figure and belongs in any Maximal collection.

I do really like this mold and the bird parts are painted really well... but I think the toy would look better if the shark parts were painted better. Like I wish the tail fin was completely painted in that blue and the shark fin on the back was painted that color. It blends in too much with the bird parts when it's not painted. Even the jaw hand and the under side of the shark head I wish was a lighter blue rather than the same color they used for the bird bits to really make it stand out more.

astrotankerpixel moderatus I admit it also struck me as weird to have a shark as a good guy back in the day, but that might just be a side effect of Jaws pounding 'sharks are evil" into my brain. Looking back, it does fit the animal pattern the Beast Wars toys had going (not counting some of the Japanese exclusives which broke it). Maximals were mammals, birds and fish (and one squid). Predacons were dinosaurs, reptiles, insects, arachnids, and amphibians. Pretty much the only ones who broke the pattern were Injector, who fit both patterns at once, and those who changed sides so they still fit their original side's pattern.

astrotankerpixel moderatus Main reason to your concern is both nature and nuture. Humans are naturally conditioned to associate certain looks with certain genders. So it makes sense to make fembots designs look like an attractive female human, just as the male transformers are designed to be more masculine. However there are exceptions to these, such as Strika from Beast Machines or Strongarm (current RID) who aren't exactly sleek in design (I personally like Strongarm's design). So as kids who watch transformers grow up they take the characteristics in they like and those they dislike and apply them in aspects of their lives, such as what to look for in a friend, how to deal with bullies, and later what to look for in a potential significant other. Now that isn't to say that these aren't the only factors to the case but does that help clear things up a bit?
