Charles did a good job explaining the frame work of Sora combos which, as he said at the end, I think is mainly what's important. Most of these videos just kinda show you the finished product for the combos, but Charles shows you all the lego pieces and each way they can fit together and tells you to go mess with it which I think is the best way to do it.

I've watched so many of these that don't break down the nuance of the IDJ. Thank you for breaking the pattern!

Short hop Fire can actually combo into a lot like falling Fair, Up Air, Nair and side B off the top of my head, which have natural follow-ups.
@andrewpenn77713 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen it but have trouble executing it. Are you immediately hitting firaga from the short hop or at the top of your short hop. I am not having much success from rising firaga.
@colinhay16663 жыл бұрын
@@andrewpenn7771 To get a falling aerial follow-up you need to do a sh rising Firaga, but not immediately like if you were doing jump+A sh macro, it's very slightly delayed, but definitely before the peak of your sh. Then you want to buffer the falling aerial and FF as soon as it lands (or slightly before). The window is not quite as tight for taller/big body characters, but you might have to Firaga on the first possible frame for a character like Pichu. Sh rising Firaga->Side B is a lot easier, just make sure to release the input once the side B animation comes out so you don't accidentally do the homing version. Using this setup so that your opponent pops onto a platform forces them into a tech situation where (I think) Sora can cover every possible option with Up Smash. You can get this from a raw Side B, but using the Firaga setup is much safer. With the falling FF'd aerials on the way down from a rising Firaga, imo the most consistent confirms are as follows: Fair confirms into F Smash, Nair confirms into Up Smash and Up Air, both can confirm into Up B, and Up Air confirms into double jump cancelled Up Air-> Up B. That's my best advice so far. Hope it helps...

Please tell me how to properly his falling fair consistently.
@colinhay16663 жыл бұрын
@@blueflare3299 From around the peak of a short hop or later, input right (the direction you're facing) on the C-stick, then as soon as the Fair keyblade animation comes out, fast fall by hitting down on the left stick. This will cancel the additional hits of Fair by forcing Sora to hit the ground. Once you hit the ground you can immediately combo into an F Smash, dash attack, F-tilt or grab. There are other followups but those are probably the most consistent.

Such a great guide, thank you Charles! I agree with what you say about Sora; when he touches someone he has strong potential for ToDs.

This stuff is rly hard, and it's probably because I can only use one joycon right now :, like short hop is extremely hard for me, and I've tried against moving targets with idj and the get out really easily due t how slow I am, kinda makes me sad that Im not really good at doing combos and moving quickly like other sora mains :,

I used to play with joy-cons (and drift) back in 2019. I found short hopping to be quite difficult because of the small size of the x/y button as well as the x button feeling more clicky than a pro controller/GameCube, making it harder to use softer inputs. Sora could still do pretty cool combos with joy-cons with short hop aerials. Here’s some I would try out: Down tilt into up tilt, then short hop up air Nair 1-2 into fastfall, then up tilt/up smash Down throw into short hop fair 1 to 3 (at early percent) short hop nair 1-2 into fastfall, then fair 1-3
