The fun thing about restricted formats is that in a metagame where everything dies from one hit and every team is guaranteed a Pokemon with a nuke, suddenly stats start to matter much less and movepools/abilities/typing start to matter much more.

I believe that Oranguru has potential in restricted formats because allowing your busted legendary/ies to attack twice via Instruct has to be good. One of it's abilities being Inner Focus similar to Crobat is also really nice, it just uses it so set trick room instead of tailwind. Give it a Mental Herb and stopping it from setting up Trick Room is very difficult, especially if it's sitting next to a restricted pokemon that threatens attacking with it's obscene signature move. It's other abilities arent' terrible either although they're probably more on the gimmicky side of things.

I have really enjoyed using Ribombee as a tailwind setter on the online ladder. Shield Dust protects it from fake out flinches. If you give it a focus sash it us fairly safe even if the opponent can use tailwind first. It has a decent supporting movepool with moves like stun spore, helping hand, imprison, pollen puff, reflect, and light screen. You can use U-turn for pivoting. Moonblast or Dazzling gleam can be used for Fairy Stab to hit some relevant pokemon.

Even without Tera Shedinja would be insane. Kyogre, Zacian, Zamazenta, Miraidon, IR-Caly and Terapagos dont run moves that hit it. Neither do other staples like Rillaboom and Amoongus.

12:55 I think Mienshao also fits in this category Mienshao is only being used because it has good synergy with Calyrex Shadow rider and it can deal with Incineroar Prior to Reg G Mienshao didn't see any usage,but after Reg G it won Bolognia regionals
